Course Curriculum Overview

3

Actually I never thought of being an engineer. My father is an electrical contractor himself. So he suggested me to work the same as him ! That's the only reason I'm attracted towards this field. The curriculum conducts many more practical in order to improve our thinking and decision taking abilities. The exam structure and the teaching methods are good actually but it can be the best if the slow down the speed of teaching as all the students can't understand with the same flow . There are in-sems after every two lessons which makes it easier toh achieve good marks for the end result still needs improvement.

Fees and Financial Aid

Actually being an SC, I had no fees (no tuition fees, no caution fees, no registration fees, no admission fees, no development fees, no lab fees) I am just asked to pay exam fees for every semister. I do have a friend who studies with me and belong to NT-C category. He too have many scholarship options. He totally paid around 11,500 for his admission. And rest is just the exam fees. As per the merit list the cutoff for open was around 82 percentile but for sc and st it was around 52 percentile. My college do provide scholarship options.

Campus Life

3

I don't know much about my college fests but they don't promote much some selected fests are organised overall. Library is quiet big and provide all types of educational books related to engineering. We do have pass for drawing sheets, smart board, benches, fans , and all the regular stuff provided. Sports are thankfully promoted by my college they always support all the sports activities and other extracurricular activities. No we don't have any student-run social group, ther clubs too are very limited, and I don't think there's any impact of it in students Life.

Hostel Facilities

4

I don't stay at any hostel, I have rented a room in kasba peth. My room have 2 double bed, an AC , almirah, table, and attached toilet bathroom. Quality of meals is not that good but they are just ok in taste .

Admission

I got my admission through CET. I applied for about 7-8 colleges (from Pune itself) as my branch was already decided. Still I was wishing for AISSMS in my cap rounds but unfortunately it wasn't an option for me. And the college I got was PES Modern college of engineering. I wasn't very sad to get this college but still I could have my better options. The admission process for my college is simple. The allow admission through jee, cet and management quota. The overall cutoff for my college was about 75 percentile for open for cet.

Faculty

4

The faculty of my college are quiet good. They are always available and ready to correct your doubt. All the faculties are friendly towards the student and are strict for studies at the same time. There are about 3 in-sems and a end-sem for 1 semister. Whereas each in-sems has papers of 20 marks and the end-sem in of 40 marks ! For me the best faculties are Jyoti ma'am and Soumya ma'am the are very understanding and friendly for all of us! And I really don't gate any teacher they are just strict when I make mistakes otherwise they all are chill !

Night Life

1

My college don't provide any gym, cafeteria is also bit small and noisy. The in time is 9 am and there's a break from 11-12 and then the college continue till 4 pm. Canteen is the best place to hangout and the pedestrian pathway is also a good option for hangouts. And as per Pune station is the best and safe locality to roam at night

Placement Experience:

In my college students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester and every year many companies come for hiring. Recently companies like TCS Accenture Cognizant Hitachi JSW Group Philips Axis Bank and some startups also visited so we get both IT and core chances. As per the latest data the highest package was around 24 LPA and the average stays around 6 to 6.5 LPA for most students and the lowest offers start from 3.5 LPA so it depends a lot on the role and company. Many students get placed but it mostly depends on skills performance and branch so it is not guaranteed for everyone. I feel the college gives decent chances but we also have to do our own preparation because competition is high. If I dont get placement from campus then I will try off campus also because there are many openings outside specially in IT. Overall placements are good for this level college and since companies keep coming for drives students who prepare properly usually get at least one offer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources

The highest on campus is 43 lakhs while off campus is around 1.4cr. average package is 14-15 lpa mostly for swe roles. Percentage student getting placed is 50% oncampus and if we add off campus the number goes to 80%. I plan to work in the industry for 2-3 years and then try to go for masters.
