Course Curriculum Overview

3

The standard of teaching here is so high. One can easily qualify competitive exams like GATE and GRE if he/she scores decent marks here. There is limit for no of students to join a elective. So many of the students often end up taking electives which are neither useful nor interesting for them. I think every students deserve a freedom to choose the electives of his interest. Each semester has a mid semester exam of 30 marks and 3 quizzes which comprises of 20 marks. And these 50 marks are considered as internals. And End sem exam is conducted at the end of the each semester which comprises of 50marks. And the final grade is obtain after adding these marks together and assigning grades using relative grading. The difficulty level of exam varies from moderate to hard based the lecturer.

Fees and Financial Aid

Student who wants to get a seat through management quota have to be pay INR 6 Lakhs Rupees every year. Student who got seat through merit based list will have to pay INR 2.4 Lakhs. Hostel fees will be INR 1.07 Lakhs. And a caution deposit of 10000 rupees is included.

Campus Life

3

The college has so many clubs and all of them are almost active throughout the year. I was in ECE Club of our college. I had organised various seminars and competitions related to electronics and it's advancements. Later after an year I got promoted for junior executive post to technical lead post in my club. The only problem is the clubs are often not funded well and this is what stops the clubs to perform at its peak. The college also offers encouragement to sports and we have football, hand ball, basket ball, volleyball, athletics, cricket and badminton. And there is ground dedicated to each of the following sports. The is a college library in which there is avast collection of books and journals related to all disciplines. We can also borrow any book from library for a month and after that you have to either renew the book or you will be charged 8 rupees per day as fine.

Hostel Facilities

3

The rooms of the hostel are average and the hot water facility is available. There is free Wi-fi service also available but speed of internet is not so great. The BTech students will get accommodation in 4 sharing rooms and MTech students get 2 sharing rooms. There is a dedicated study hall in each hostel. No Iron boxes or kettles are allowed inside hostel rooms. And the electricity supplied to the rooms is of low power. The hostel mess food is not good at all in terms of taste. But the quality is ok. There is often a limit for specific food items. The menu of the mess is decided by hostel authorities themselves. There is nothing like food committee for students to decide their own menu. At the time admission, you need to specify that you want to opt for hostel and you will have to sign relevant undertakings to get hostel accommodation. And the price of the hostel is a little expensive.

Admission

I have wrote JEE Advanced and I have good 148 marks But I was disqualified for not meeting the minimum marks criteria in chemistry. So I had to see for other options. I join this college because I was told that the college is very good in terms of placements. I had few more options too... SRM & VIT. But this college is better than SRM college. And VIT fees was so expensive so I have confirmed my admission here. The admission process of Amrita School of Engineering is you have to write AEEE exam and provide your JEE mains score if you have any. Once the counselling process starts you have to upload your course preferences and you get a seat based of your AEEE score and JEE mains score.

Faculty

For every 10 students we have 1 teacher. The teacher are often approached by the students. But are very strict while evaluating the answers in exams. Every subject will be evaluated for 100 marks. 60 marks for internals and 40 marks for end sem exam. In internals, 3 quizzes of 10 marks each and 1 mid sem exam of 50 marks(but will be scaled down to 30 marks) are there. Exam are often found to be very difficult. And around 40-60 students out of 183 students per subject in my class fail to clear exams.

Night Life

1

There is a two gyms one for boys and one for girls located at respective hostels. And the equipment in the gym is old and often there are so many people in the gym. gym will be closed on sundays. And day scholars are not allowed into gym. There are 3 cafeterias in total. All three of them open at 8:00 am in the morning and closed at 7:30 pm. Only veg and egg dishes are served at the cafeteria. The campus timings are 6:00 am to 8:30 pm. And girls have to move to hostel before 8:00 pm. After 9:30 pm, silent hours get started and no one is allowed to roam even in corridors of the hostel. Everyone should stay inside their rooms. We are not allowed to roam at the night so night life in this college is not so enjoyable. The locality is pretty safe roam around in the nights

Placement Experience:

Placements at RNS Institute of Technology are good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th or 7th semester. Many companies visit the college, including IT and core companies. Some of the common recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and a few core companies for EEE. The average package is around 3 to 5 LPA, and higher packages are also offered for top-performing students. The highest package can go much higher depending on the company. Around 70–80% of students get placed, mainly in IT roles. For EEE students, core placements are limited, but there are good opportunities in software roles. The college also provides training and support for placements. After completing my degree, I plan to get placed in a good company and build my career.

Most of the students get placed from the campus placements. Students get eligible for campus placements from the fifth semester. Companies like HP, Infosys, Wipro come for recruiting and make offers from 3L per annum to 30 L per annum. Around 70 percent of the students get placed through campus placement. I plan on working for a dream company after completing my degree.

Placement Experience:

I applied to colleges like BMSIT and Sir MVIT, and I had confirmed seats there, too. I chose RNSIT because it has a better reputation for placements in my branch and the campus environment felt more welcoming. I didn't get into RVCE because my KCET rank wasn't high enough for their top branches, as the competition was very tough that year. The admission process is simple. They mainly take students through KCET and COMEDK. You need at least 45% in your 12th boards (PCM). Most students prefer KCET because the fees are lower. Once the seat is allotted through counseling, you just visit the campus, submit your documents, and pay the fees. The whole process was quite smooth and well-organized."

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very unique, and very new, we are not taught irrelevant subjects and topics like every university does, Polaris school of technology (PST) is a new gen college which mainly focuses on tech, producing the best engineers not amongst india but amongst the world, it's aim is to produce engineers who are better than IITians and MITians, all these specifications influenced me to choose this course/curriculum When it comes to real-world applications, Polaris school of technology(PST) gives us real-life problems and scenario based projects through evaluations which help us in the future and helps us to build a proper approach for problems and train us to be the best. We have two main exams per sem which would be conducted every 3 months that is ½th of the sem, we have a total of 8 sems, so total 16 exams, our exams would be difficult for other college students, but not for us as we have the best mentors.
