What Students Say?
Likes
- Infrastructure is top notch and consists of almost everything one may require.
- Faculties are helpful and informative with top graduates.
Dislikes
- Freshers have curfew after 12 PM for the entire year.
- Hostels and academic blocks are placed quite far apart.
Course Curriculum Overview
The faculty is very upfront and motivating. They will help you at your every step and solve your doubts. The exams are kept semester-wide and professors according to their needs hold quizzes quite often and other grading components are held aswell to clear and make the topic stronger for one student.
Internships Opportunities
I haven't been offered any internships yet due to being a fresher but on contacting a few seniors, I've got to know that internships are good and quite a few people get a chance to intern at reputed companies.
Placement Experience
The placement here is good. But you have to grill yourself as well. Nothing comes without doing anything. So if you want a good placement you’ll have to study well for that and maintain a good GPA as well. Top companies like Google, Microsoft, Adobe, McKinsey all come to our university. Highest package offered is 60 lacs while average is around 12 lacs.
Fees and Financial Aid
Total fees is around 5.5LPA including 3.5L in tution fees and 2L in hostel, mess and laundry charges. Residing in hostels is compulsory, rest assured it is worth the price. Fees is same for almost everyone except a few on scholarships which include national level athletes, school toppers, etc.
Campus Life
One of the largest fests occuring on campus are Breeze - Tech and cultural fest and Surge - Sports fest. Central Library has a huge variety of books and magazines to suit the needs of all kinds of students and even study material for the course.
Hostel Facilities
Mess food is quite good with a variety of meals from north and south india served daily. It is completely hygienic and is served by catering partner "Sodexo" which is quite a well known company in the field. Infrastructure is good with AC, washing machines, common rooms with equipped TV and TT tables, registration process is also quite simple for them and is done on the day of arrival itself. Hostel rooms are spacious and in quite good conditions and are quite affordable.
Admission
Some of the other colleges I had applied to we're SRM Chennai, VIT and a few others but Shiv Nadar caught my eye especially due to the fact that it provides a great exposure and has an amazing crowd. One of the main ways to gain admission here is through SNUSAT but sometimes an interview round is also held.
Faculty
First of all we have quite a large variety of facilities and TA's so the faculty to student ratio is quite adequate. Exams are held quite frequently which might become a bit tough at times to handle but rest assured the curriculum is well laid out to help us prevent stressing out a lot.
Night Life
Life at campus is amazing, a mix of both educational and recreational activities make it fun and interesting to spend time here. There's a huge variety of clubs to choose from including a couple notable ones like GDSC and TedEx.
Other Applied Colleges
Bennett University | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Way too crowded and not the best faculty, placement opportunities.
