What Students Say?
Likes
- College has a nice surroundings. Filled with trees. It is very calm
- It is said to have good placements.A guy got 17 lakh per annum as a fresher
Dislikes
- From my perspective,i dislike the fact that you cannot bring any non veg food items to the campus
- The classes are from 9 to 4:30. It is very tiring as every lecture is about 1 hour
Course Curriculum Overview
The reason i chose this course and this college is for the placements and job opportunities. There are also additional subjects like life skills. They prepare you for the real world applications. They help us improve our communication. They teach us how to attend interviews through activities.i don't have any problems with their teaching methods. The exam are conducted 2 times in a semester and I think they are spaced evenly. I would say the exams are on the difficulty level of 4/10.This is purely my personal opinion others may rate it more difficult.and also i chose this course because I have an actual interest in it so don't find it much difficult.
Internships Opportunities
So I have not yet received any internship opportunities as I am just a 2nd year. The internships are on the 3rd and 4th year.students obtain paid internships as a part of their PG programme at leading companies such as Microsoft, Google, Intel, Nokia etc. These internships last six months to one year and often lead to direct placements within their respective companies.
Placement Experience
As of my course,The students will start to get interviews after the 6th semester. There are my companies who offer placements. From what I heard, the highest someone has got as a fresher is 17 lakh per annum. The average is about 8 lakh per annum. The faculty here say that the placement percentage is 100% but I don't think it's true. There are still students back from 2019 still writing backlogs. So I don't think its a 100% but it is still good.So my plans after getting the degree is getting into the placements because that is one of the reason i chose this college
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fees will be about 1 lakh. They have not asked any other extra fees like labs fees yet. There is a 20% scholarship discount in fees for students who achieved 90% and above in their 12th.But if they failed to achieve 9 sgpa and above in semester exams the scholarship will be discontinued and cannot be renewed again
Campus Life
So I wouldn't choose this college to enjoy the college life that you see in movies. It is pretty boring in here.i chose this college purely for the placements and decided to sacrifice the happiness. There aren't much programmes or festivals. The only thing here are the exhibitions and cultural programmes. We can only imagine to have concerts and parties like other colleges. There are wide range of books that you can access through the college library. It is well maintained. There are projectors or TVs in every classrooms and the computer labs are very good and air conditioned. There are occasional selection for basketball ball, badminton etc.But I don't think the games are conducted here. There is also a programme called sameeksha where professional teachers come and teach their expertise like drawing, clay modelling, dance, music etc. There are also hackathons which you can participate and also games regarding coding.
Admission
So the reason i chose this college is because they have this integrated mca course which included both bca and mca. Most colleges don't have this course. But i also did apply to other colleges and I was also selected for the admission. But why I chose to take admission in Amrita is that my friend also was taking admission in Amrita. So in here,it was an interview based selection. They just ask for self introduction and ask questions based on the subjects you chose in 12th and 10th.
Faculty
Most of the faculty are kind. But some are old people they have different mindset. They don't get along with the students. There are also teachers who are liked by most of the students for their teaching style and their behaviour. So I have taken the integrated mca which has 10 semesters and each semester have 2 exams mid term and final semester exam. The exams are not that tough. But there are some students who fail to clear the exams but I would say that is because of their lack of hardwork
Night Life
So I wouldn't suggest to hangout at night near the college because a friend of mine with his friends wanted to drink a tea at night from the nearby tea shop. When they passed through the front side of the college, one of them decided to take a mirror selfie from the concave mirror that you see on the road side. But it was outside the college. And one of the faculty from the college saw this and questioned them and their parents where called next morning. So no hanging out at night. There is college hostel for girls.Boys have to stay in pg.I heard that there are singing of devotional songs every day in the girls hostel and they have to attend it.And there won't be much time to study after that. And ofcourse the food is vegetarian in the hostel. There are good tea shops near the college. There is no night life. The students are not allowed outside at night.
