- There is also inter college competition in the college like chess competition, badminton, cricket, football, etc. There's a special dedicated ground to play and practice the games
- Lastly, principal is also very friendly and supportive. They support various activities in the college like fresher's and farewell both official and unofficial.
Dislikes
- Placement is a negative that I'd say. There's no placements despite it's inclination towards commercial sector
- College gas more inclination towards theoretical knowledge instead of practical knowledge. There are labs but no staff is there to properly use it
- Being an only college of commerce in jammu, it's campus is not that developed. It's small in size.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is average. There's limited syllabus not that deep so it's easy for anyone to pass theory exams but practical exams are tough. I personally like management subjects as they're more theory and marketing based. There are certain courses like income tax, mgt accounting, stats, business operations that prepares you for real life challenges and easy to get a job in the corporate world In improvements, I'd say it must make us use those computer labs and told us some basics of itr and other skills like ppt, word , etc. After a month of semester, you'd be having your minors and after 4-5 months, you'd be having you majors.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am doing BBA from spmr college under cluster university and its yearly fee is around 16-17k. So the 3 year ug course fee would be around 50k approx. All your admission fee, registration, development, etc is included in this fee exclusive of any picnic or trip and retest and revaluation amount. There's equal fee even for categories other than general. But there is scholarship available for sc/st students and also there's a special scholarship for all category students called pmsss: prime minister special scholarship scheme In this scheme you'd be getting 12k a year but remember you've to apply in the first year or otherwise you would not be able to avail it and you must not fail any semester.
Campus Life
In this college, we celebrate many festivals and cultural programs, but two special programs involves. Fresher's Farewell These two are very popular and students always get excited getting into it. There's a special library and you can find any book in there and you can rent it too. All classrooms have a smart board and projectors and also a white board. A good infrastructure indeed. Yes there's inter college competition in the college like cricket, football, kho kho, kabaddi, and many more. We've here a management club that does everything from organising a fresher's to a small function. It inculcates budgeting, social relations among the students.
Admission
Initially, I made up my mind to get into this college becouse it's near to my home and also it's a commerce college. I want to get into other colleges like Delhi's srcc but my health didn't allow and there's so much pollution in delhi. Admission process of my college is simple but for that, you have to score good marks in your cuet exams because of competition in that college Admission process included filling up the admission form from the official site of cluster university and waiting for the allotment list. After that, you have to go to college to allot yourself a seat and choose your course and pay the amount from bank.
Faculty
Talking about student to faculty ratio there's less faculty but if you talk about their approachability, I'd say they are very supportive and friendly and also there are some teachers whose teaching styles atetvery interesting hai and surreal. I liked the management faculty as they're supportive and also they're very friendly and encourage us to do better things like organising a management club , fresher's farewell, etc. I can't find anyone in this college who is not approachable. Talking about exams, there are two types of exams conducted First, minors. They are most probably 20 marks exam according to your credit system and code assigned Major exams are external exams they're 80 marks exam depending upon credit system. There. Are also presentations in this college and viva and all that.
Night Life
There's no gym in our college but definitely a Library and cafeterias. You can go and hangout there but after 5 pm it's closed. You have to be inside your hostel till 8pm And campus opens from 8am and closes at 5pm There's a palm Island mall some meter away from college and we just go there and watch movies and play games. It's all fun.
