Remarks

1. I had applied to XIME Bangalore, Welingkar, and Christ College. I got selected for XIME Bangalore. 2. I choose IIITM Gwalior because it is a central government institute, proximity to my hometown and affordable program fee. 3. I got rejected from Welingkar and Christ due to low CAT score. 4. The admission process for MBA is quite straight forward. IIITM only accepts CAT score. There is no explicit mention of minimum CAT percentile. In under graduation one should have at least 60% with maths/statistics as one of the subjects. After that there will be group discuss round and interview round. Selected students name will get published on the official college website.

Highest stipend offered for internship was 20000/month. While the lowest one was unpaid internship. 4. There is no preferred company for my course. Majority of the students either want to pursue career in marketing or in finance. 5. None of the students from MBA secured PPO. No there is no option to sit in final placement if anyone secured PPO. 6. Other courses has better internship opportunity especially engineering students. Some of my known people secured internship in Microsoft, Cisco, etc.

Placement Experience

2

1. Final placements starts in Aug and can continue till Jan-Feb depending on the number of students in the course. 2. No, not everyone get placed during the placements. Average CTC for MBA is 7.5 LPA mentioned on college website. While the highest is 9 LPA and lowest is 4 LPA. 4. No there is no company on campus that hires in bulk. 5. Nightlife is not vibrant there. Nights canteen in available only in 2 hostels BH-1 and BH-3. Most of the students stay in their rooms at night. Not so much activity after 10:30 PM. 3. Majority of the students go out of campus on weekends. Major hangout spots in college is Open Air Theatre and Canteen. While outside of campus there are only few places to visit like Gwalior Fort, Zoo, DB Mall, Chaupati. 4. Faculty

1.5

The courses are very engaging and can be academically demanding but that depends on the faculty taking the course. A student has to take a minimum of 5 , 4 credit courses and there are 2 exams : the mid term and end sem exam exams. Some courses do not have exams but conduct quizzes or just essays. there can be 2- 4 classes in one day depending on the students time table each lasting for 1.5 hours. Prof Bittu and Prof Vidya Avasare is someone I admire the most of all the courses I have taken. The teaching methodology is very research based so no rote learning is involved. Students are required to analyze information and engage with it. Every course has a different attendence policy some allow to unexcused absences others dont allow any absences at all and some may have a more relaxed policy. There is grade cut for not attending classes.
