Course Curriculum Overview

4

My aim in life is to be a professor and a poet and I think Literature degree is the best way for it. The aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course got to be how well the syllabus is made, allowing us to improve everyday. One can prepare for competitive exams well. The curriculum enhances our speaking abilities, grammar, our social interactions and make us better intellectually, which is again, very beneficial for the future because nowadays, the world needs personality development and this curriculum help boost that. hmm, i think, the improvements needed got to be that when assignments are turned in, they should make sure to check if it's AI written or human since some students use AI and get marks because the souce is not checked. Timing of the exams are not frequent, It gives us time to prepare. CT 1 is held 2 months after the semester starts, CT 2 is held 1 month after CT 1 and the end semester exam is held in the end.

Internships Opportunities

4

- I'm in my first year here so opportunities for me are not quite much. But seniors got opportunities from companies like AMAZON, GOOGLE, MICROSOFT, TATA, Wadhwani Foundation, Internshala etc..and there's opportunities often.

The library is stacked with various books and journals. Novels by famous as well as underrated authors, Research papers, Thesis, Self-help books etc. There are Projectors in every classroom, labs and proper facilities available for BSC people, computer rooms, photography room, journalism room, editorial room, etc.. Every kind of sports is played here, there is a volleyball court, football ground, basketball court, tennis court etc. There are many clubs, which includes Visual and Performing club, Writers and Speakers Club, Music club, sports club, Dance club, Photography club, Art and Crafts club etc..which improves students confidence and provides them various opportunities to develop.

Hostel Facilities

5

- Fans, bunk beds, cupboards etc are provided in excellent condition. 2 plug sockets for every students. - Food is not provided in the hostel, one must buy from canteens and eat, but it's very affordable. - The process for registration of hostel starts during the time of admission only. To book your slot, we paid 1000?. Hostel is quite affordable, 15000? per semester i.e., like 2500 per month. - I have not rented a pg but my friends have. The locality name is Sonapur or Kamerkuchi.

Admission

The other colleges I applied to were Royal Global University, Assam Down Town University and Brainware University. I got accepted in all three of them but I chose ADBU because of the faculty and opportunities here. It's value for money. No, I didn't get a rejection from other colleges that I applied to. I didn't make it there because ADBU was always my first choice. *ADMISSION PROCESS* For BA : 55% in previous exams (board exams) plus we had to go a PI round. For BSC :55% in board exams plus and entrance exam conducted by the college and PI round.

Faculty

5

The faculty to student ratio is like proper and justifiable. There are more than 14+ faculty in our department. The major class is divided between two professors. They are quite approachable, one can just go knock in their cabins if they've any doubt and they are always ready to help. Name of the faculties I liked are : Sir Gunjan Das, Miss Sagarika Kotoky, Sir Pinaki Dewan, Sir Fabian Wanbok, Miss Trisha Goswami. I liked them because they teach really well, they put in a lot of effort to prepare slides for every class, plus because of their doubt solving capabilities. Name of the faculties I disliked: Honestly, none. Every one of the faculty of out department is very approachable and they're friendly. (Ofcourse they can be strict too when needed). There are 3 exams each semester: CT 1, CT 2 and the end semester exam. CT 1 and CT 2 are of 20 marks and the end semester exam is for 100 marks. The difficulty level is moderate, not too tough, not too easy. The course curriculum is really relevant, especially for us who wants to sit for the UGC-NET exam, our roots for the course gets strong.

Interview Experience

5

- For my course, I had to go through a PI round. Several questions were asked including why I wanted to do the course. Test is for BSC students, that i don't know. - I went through various YT videos to prepare which helped a lot.

Other Applied Colleges

Royal Global University - [RGU] | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (English)

I feel ADBU focuses more on individual growth than RGU plus great faculty.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since the uni. board has opted to follow the NEP 2020, the syllabus and the course patterns are very detailly picked for each semester. This education policy also has and lets students to take equal opportunities in learning a subject out of their honours paper, by letting them choose a wide range of common papers that might help in ability enhancement, skill enhancement, multidisciplinary and value added courses. This broadens a students level of expertise too. So its a great way of learning I'd say.
