Remarks

I am very dissatisfied about this college.. First of all there is very big issue in result...college didn't gives us result... In college campus there is only smoking, adda, poltics, Seniors are not helpful at all..

I am a student of b.sc genarel 1st year...(maths,phys,computer science) there is 3 main exam to be graduate(1st year,2nd year,3rd year). Our H.O.D helps us to improve our knowledge..he took practical classes...and there is practical exam besides the theoreticals...

Placements and job opportunity is almost null...that college carries the main stream courses... College has no partnership to give us opportunities... But college provides stipend for some poor student...

Nabin baran' that means freshers..when its time to freshers, college get a soothing ambience...we enjoy a lot every year...many of stars comes in fresher to Execute this celebration... Fest-- it is annual cultural programme.. It also seems like freshers.. And there is also some small events happen in college..like 'bosonto utsob'

Fee Structure And Facilities

No...its affordable.. In every different Department. students pays their fees different.. But all are affordable for normal people...and there is many stipend also get for poor students. My fees for b.sc general is about 3500 per year

No there is no loan facility...its a common and very ordinary college...very bad ambience for Studios students..there is some stipend but it is only get through tmcp union..if you have think that you actually study in graduation..then that college is not for you

Very old labs, old machines, No extracurricular activities happen in that college..it a just a good weather for adda,smoking, poltics etc No..there is no sports activities i have ever seen.. Nothing much happened except adda, smoking and poltics

They are helpful if you involve in tmcp union only...there is no help get from seniors..they helps in danga, lorai Over all i didn't satisfied at all... Almost all Seniors are college outers..they only come in college for poltics..

Faculty

Good faculty... But there is too much issue among the result... I been suffering for this problem... I already gave my 2nd year test exam..but till now i didn't get my results...H.O.D are very amicable...but if we didn't get result...we won't be called graduate ever

Likes

Campus is nice. There's greenery and all
SOME of the faculties are really good and those said teachers will actually look out for you and care
Mentors are appointed for each students who are responsible for their final year project, publications and LORs. If you are lucky, you'll get a good mentor.

Dislikes

Classrooms are less compared to the number of students. Students have to wander around the building after each classes to find seats. Classrooms are very dirty
There's literally NOTHING in the labs. Experiments take way long to prepare and perform because reagents and equipments are never available.
Hardly a 2 week summer break (because of MAKAUT). Students cannot even apply to good internships because no lab would take in external students in july or august.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

How is it like to be a part of Presidency University!

Likes

I like the facilities available including air conditioner, lab equipments, projector screen for slideshow, canteen and overall the campus
I also appreciate the faculties because they have studied in highly reputed institutes and undoubtedly teach the best.
I like how the college focuses not only on academics but also on co curricular. Sports, cultural functions, workshops are held frequently. It keeps the students engaged in fruitful activities

Dislikes

I do not like the multidisciplinary courses that we have to study in the first year making it little burdened for the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

College is under Ramakrishna Mission so you can imagine the discipline. Fully disciplined college no ragging.
Good . You have to balance with disciplined college.

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Reasons to not apply for NSHM Knowledge Campus

Likes

The admission process was very smooth, the administration board is very helpful.
The library is huge and the content of books is very good
College life and fests are good but not great

Dislikes

Placements are absolutely bogus. There were almost no good placements when i passed out part of it can be blamed on covid but mostly the college was largely at fault
Faculty was not upto the mark in regards to the hefty college fees we were charged
Even during covid online classes we were charged full fee which is again absolutely horrendous

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

Examination Questions And Syllabus are good.
Faculties and Facilities are good enough.
College and evaluation system is good enough.

Dislikes

Timings of examinations per semester is reduced.
Examination centres are given far away from college.
Fees is little bit Higher for many poor students.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.

College library there are ample amount of books to br studied on.
College campus. There are no such ragging related activities have been encouraged in our college

I found mathematics an interesting discipline to take up for my future so i opted. The faculties are well educated and behaved. We get regular classes with doubt solving session. The professors also help us with our doubts and extra classes.

I took this trouble because I like this course. 45 boys and 30 girls are studying in our college. In our Cooch Behar College, the exam is conducted very thoroughly. The teacher and teacher of this college is very good and talks to everyone well and clears their doubts.

B.Sc Computer Science Faculty: Student ratio is = 4:23 may vary a bit Faculty are well Qualified & Teaching method is okay good, but not to the mark like very good or excellent. The exam term was timely (sometimes it gets a bit late due to some natural disaster like cyclone, heavy rainfall, etc or any govt. & university delays), and the exam level is nearly too difficult, something like in between moderate to difficult.

Gour Mahavidyalaya is a general college of Malda. To be eligible for this college one has to acquire atleast 40% marks for general degree, and 70% marks for honours degree.
