Course Curriculum Overview

5

I didn't specifically want to select this college. Rather i was assigned to it in my counselling The curriculum is really well focused on trying to adapt to us to the real life situations the doctors face The only improvement i can think of is completion of curriculum at the earliest so the students can prepare well for the final exam The exam range from being easy to moderate

Internships Opportunities

5

A stipend of almost 10000 rs per month is given by the government during the final 5th year or internship There is also provision for research in the college which if granted permission to proceed will give in extra stipend

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee per year is around 9k for 5 nd half years with only first year being 12k per annum SC and ST fron the state quota will be extempt from most of the fees There is scholarship for almost all categories except General or OC students which is provided by the government

Campus Life

5

Every year there will be 3 events conducted with 2 being cultural events and 1being a sports event ( the time when these are conducted varies every year) The is a huge library with almost every book required for an MBBS being available. There is also provision for computers in the library The class is usually taken by using projector and whiteboard The student clubs though less active are present

Hostel Facilities

5

The room provided by the college is neat and well maintained. A room is provided for 3 students to reside The quality and taste of food is really good and the menu keeps changing frequently since its a student mess. The menu is decided by the active students council The registration for the hostel is done along with admission and is quite affordable at 6000 rs per month for both the hostel and mess food. There is even concession for reserved students

Admission

I applied to almost all the colleges in India suring the counselling But within the choices i had for my marks i chose tvmc because it has a high patient load which is really important factor For admission one needs to clear NEET and get eniugh marks to get into this college

Faculty

5

The faculty to student ratio differs from department to department with least being 1:50 and highest being 1:20 Almost all the faculty teach very well. Though a few might be strict overall quality of education and curriculum is really good. (I dont want to mention any names) There are 3 tests per month and one final exam at the end of the year. Only 2 students failed to pass the exam till now

Course Curriculum Overview:

It deals with patient care and clinical diagnosis along with hands on training the influenced my decision to take up this course. Through ward postings, history taking and case discussion it prepares me well for my PG exams and further future pursuits. Skill based learning should be emphasised more along with small group teaching. Sometimes the close spacing of exams can be very stressful. Difficulty level is appropriate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course is very challenging obviously as we're studying to become doctors. it could've been better by increasing the duration of the course. our first year/ semester instead of it being for 12 months was only of 9-10 months so our portions are being pushed a little. it happened due the scam etc around neet and our course start date was pushed. the course could be made easier by increasing the duration of the course. we have exams every week which does make it easier to keep up with the portions but makes it too stressful for us. maybe instead of keeping exams on monday they could change it to saturday so we can relax and be free on sundays.

Placement Experience:

The students in their internship will get around 35000 per month excluding their mess fees, they have the option to opt out of the mess. And once they finish their internship they had to do two years bond in places where the colleges allot them and the salary for those two years will be decided by the place the person goes and itll be definitely more than what they get during internship.
