How it feels like to be at MNIT Jaipur

The course curriculum is better than most colleges. The students are taught topics from their respective core branches right from the beginning which gives us an edge over students from other colleges. The exams are easy to crack if you pay attention in the classes.

The students are given internship opportunities at the beginning of the 3rd year, most of them being paid internships. The avg package of the courses is comparitively high. For CSE, it is 21 lakhs and for ECE it is nearly 17 lakh. Rest of the data is easily available on the internet. Highest package offered is 64 lpa. Companies like Deloitte, JP morgan, Texas instruments, Apple etc visit our campus.

The total fees for the first year (2 semesters) is Rs.260000, hostel fees included. Multiplying that by 4 gives us Rs.10.4lacs which gives us a rough idea of the total fees for B.Tech 4 year course. Out of 260000, 69000 is the hostel and mess fees, 62500 is the tuition fees and the rest of it is the sum of institue fees, registration fees, insurance fees etc. However, there is a full tuition fee waiver for SC/ST/PwD students and also for those who have an annual income of less than 1 lakh. There is also a 2/3rd fee waiver for students with annual income between 1 lakh and 5 lakhs. This makes the course very affordable for all.

The college life at MNIT is one of the best ones out there. Equipped with top of the line sports grounds, we get to play all the sports that we like.There are also coaches to train us. There are around 20 clubs each in the categories of tech and cultural clubs, and we are required to perform well in at least one extra curricular activity. The annual tech fest is called sphinx and the annual cultural fest is called blitzschlag, both of them being the biggest college fests in rajasthan.

The new hostels are equipped with the best amenities that a student can hope for, but some of the hostels are old and un-maintained. However, even in those hostels, we can talk to the caretakers and wardens to get our problems fixed. The hostel life is amazing, and you get to meet a lot of new and interesting people on a daily basis. The mess of Drona hostel os said to be the best, and the other messes are all above average.

I applied for all the other NITs like kurukshetra, allahabad, nagpur, trichy, warangal, surathkal and i was alloted NIT kurukshetra at first. But then i switched it to MNIT jaipur as i realized that being in a good city really helps with our personality development, and i do not regret my decision at all. The students are admitted through JoSAA, CSAB, and DASA.

The faculty members are all well qualified, most of them having PhDs and Masters in their subjects. Most of the professors teach the topics well and the classes are very interactive.The exam patter is semester wise, where each sem has 2 papers - midsem and endsem. It is really hard for students to fail the courses. The course curriculum is relevant.
