What Students Say

Likes

infrastructure and education system etc..
The canteen food is fabulous and tasty and yes hygienic
events are conducted regularly and every student is allowed to participate

Dislikes

the fee structure as it is a little bit high
they take the examination fees separately
there is nothing i dislike about the college

Course Curriculum Overview

so the curriculum is quite out dated as the college is based on pu and pu didnt changed its syllabus from last 10 years ..the things which has been taught are out dated according to the new generation

Internships Opportunities

The companies which provide the intership are ICICI bank,deloite ,amason ,desure etc ...the roles are based on the egibility of the students .like manager,assistant etc and the stipend is around 10000 monthly

Placement Experience

from semester 5th the students and eligible fod the placements ..the companies which visit us are ICICI bank ,amazon,deloite etc.the highest paclkage is 8lakh and the average package is4 lakh.i want to start my own startup after degree

Fees and Financial Aid

the admission fees was 1600 and registration fee was 1100 first year:53000 and exam fee 7000 second year:56000 and exam fee:6800 third year:59000 i dont have any scholarship and from general category so no fee reduction

Campus Life

Riwayat,panche are the events which held annually around September, October. the library has alot of books and we also have a readers club for the library...every student given the right amount of attention.

Admission

This college was my first priority as it ia one of the best college in chd and the vibes ,infrastructure is quite good ...the other colleges i applied for were sec 11 girls college,DAV sec 10,khalsa college etc

Faculty

the teachers are well educated and friendly towards the student and the ratio is 1:25 which is very .The level of the exams is moderate ...the course curriculum is relevant and reliable ..the ratio is 1:20 of students who fail to clear the exams

DAV College Chandigarh – Strong Academics, Good Location, and Engaging Campus Life

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BCA curriculum at DAV College follows Panjab University’s syllabus, which was one of the reasons I chose this course, as it covers core computer science subjects along with practical lab work. It provides a good foundation in programming, databases, and networking, preparing students for both higher studies like MCA/MBA and entry-level IT jobs. However, the syllabus is slightly outdated and could be improved by adding more industry-relevant topics like cloud computing, AI/ML, and modern web frameworks. GGDSD COLLEGE FROM STUDENTS PERSEPECTIVE

Placement Experience:

Placement cell of out college is quite good. Placemenr drive generally start at the beginning of 5th semsterbof every 3 year course. Companies like DELL, HDFC , ICICI BANK, ACCENTURE, DELLIOTE and many more came to provide employement. Highest package after UG is 10 lakhs offered by company to our college student.

Students can attend placement seminars in their last year of graduation. There are mostly placement offers for the role of sales and marketing or chat-call executives. IT companies do visit also but very rarely and they only hire only 5 to 10 candidates. There are sometimes unpaid internship opportunities available too.

DAV college : 'Not everyone's cup of Tea'

Course Curriculum Overview:

BCA in itself is not a very good course that will gurantee your placement in a good company with high package, Its relevance is high only beacuse its easy to complete and get the degree. For good packages you have to do MCA or work harder on your skill to get a good job. BCA helps in building base of your coding career, it offers a good grasp of C/CPP, Java and DataStructure.

Sggs is alright, if you dont expect much

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because i was interested in computers and didn't wanted to do arts, and i was underqualified for other streams. Every class has about 45 students, the number vary but not much. The faculty and teachers are helpful. There maybe some slacking by both sides here and there but its alright. The teaching mathod varies. If you know what youre doing the exams are not that hard to pass.

Excellent collage in chandigarh

Placement Experience:

Every year number of companies visit college to give student jobs. Well known companies visit in college like Google Amazon Tata Nike etc. In the last semester we are eligible for campus placement. The highest package was given by Amazon to one of the student of our college Was 2 crore per annum. The average package of our college was 20 lakh per annum. There are likely all the students Get placement. I had planned to become a software developer after my degree was completed

Elgibility was easy as people for any background rather say commerce , arts , non medical or medical . College doesnt have any entrance exam for admission.Students are admitted through centralized admission under DHE chandigarh. Eligibiltity of my course was just on my 12th class's board percentage. You can find the application form, application fees and application dates on the official website of GGDSD COLLEGE, CHANDIGARH There are reservered seats for specific castes although i am from general category so i did not get any type of reservation. The exams are held every 5 to 6 months after the semester end. And they are held from 9:30am to 12:30pm and 2 pm to 5pm.
