What Students Say
Likes
- The staff we had was really good, we had the top teachers in their fields and even professors holding PHDs.
- Apart from the education the overall aura of the university was really good, it is one of the best looking universities in india.
- The amenities were 100% we had a stationery inside campus, ATM machines because when i joined we didn’t had GPay and all, there were many restaurants and plus we had university provided lunch which was for a very nominal fee.
Dislikes
- Honestly, i cannot recall anything that i disliked, the staff was great the cleanness was perfect, the commute was easy and if you need anything it’s mostly inside of campus or 2 minutes walk from campus gates.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum would prepare you 60% for the real world and real problems that are faced in actual fields because the basic things are taught once you go do a job the problems are quite different then what we think. We aren't taught what or do if the cutting team cut the pattern in the wrong orientation and now the flowers are facing down.
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid 175000 per year which didn't include commuting or hostel, it was just the tution fee. There were no scholarships that i am aware of in B.Des as i didn't had any seniors or juniors who had scholarships also it's an expensive course so most students were financially well doing because everyone knew it is an expensive course to pursue.
Campus Life
The campus life was awesome, i mean there is nothing that wasn't there. There were so many clubs that you could join and if you were into politics you can also try running for president in University which was a really healthy politics and not at all like RU or other universities. Sports and other extracurricular activities were surely present and we had fields and courts for nearly every sport that students play usually.
Admission
I chose MUJ because it's simply the best, i visited other college and universities as well but it wasn't a near match to MUJ and it's reputation. I wouldn't take names but we had friendly competition in fashion shows and we used to win even in their organised shows. So it was a easy choice plus you get bragging rights when you study in MUJ.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio was really good, we were 18 students in class and 1 professor teaching so it's one of the best ratios i have seen because in my school which is again one of the top schools in india we had 1:50 approximately. The Exam system was different then what most courses would have because we had 80% practical amd 20% written overall so it was mostly making dresses or designing everything. Even if you fail the re examination is easy process but again i don't remember anyone failing.
