Course Curriculum Overview
The course contains a bit of both worlds where we learn the very basic fundamentals from the working of the computer and machine language and assembly language to the more modern subjects of cryptography and networks. The curriculum prepares you fairly well for a job in the core computer science field. The internal exams can be relatively easier when compared to semester exams but it is a really subjective opinion.
Placement Experience
The students are elegible for campus placements from the 7th semester and almost all students get placements provided they don't have any subject yet to clear at the time of placement. There are several companies that visit the college for recruiting including but not limited to TCS, CTS,etc,.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fees to be paid is Rs.90K. It does not change over the period of the course and stays the same. There is an additional Rs.1Lack to be paid as refundable deposit to the college upon joining. Students who obtain a seat through management and government allocation both pay the same tuition fee.
Campus Life
The campus life that we experience is mostly dependent around our friends circle. The campus life in terms of entertainment might be a bit lacking compared to other colleges. There is one technical fest every odd semester and one cultural fest every even semester. There are several clubs both academic and artistic present in the college that function to organize events after college. The library is well stacked to cater to the needs of the students and some departments like the computer science department have their own department library.
Hostel Facilities
The Hostel facilities provided by the college are pretty decent and somewhat better than most hostels I have seen. There are rooms with attached bathrooms which cost more and rooms with a common bathroom which are cheaper. The rooms can be 2 sharing or 3 sharing depending on the size of the room. The hostel mess is fairly decent and provides both vegetarian and non vegetarian options.
Admission
I had applied to other colleges like Amrita College of Engineering and Vellore Institute of Technology but the fee structures there were no viable for me despite getting accepted, so I had to choose the next best option for me.
Faculty
The teachers are fairly decent and most of them are formerly from NITs or IITs or have done their Phds. Most teachers are really helpful and really care about their students even if they don't teach them any longer. There are 2 internal exams per semester and 1 Semester exam. There is also an internal practical exam and an external practical exam for lab subjects.
