Course Curriculum Overview

3

The subjects included in the curriculum had a major influence for the selection of the course. The curriculum prepares fairly good for the real world applications. If the subjects including a proper programming language, are taught more in the labs from Day-1, as compared to lectures in the classroom, it'll be a great benefit. The timing of exams sometimes blend well, but sometimes create a bit confusion as well.

Placement Experience

4

From the 7th semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. Various companies have visited such as Accenture, TCS, Cognizant, Capgemini, Vodafone Idea, etc. Accenture gave offers 8-10 students. TCS gave a total of 56 offers to students. Highest package received by most recent 2024 batch was 9 LPA. Avg package received was 3.6 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

Year wise fees for all students - ?39,000 Scholarships for students with family income less than ?6,00,000 - ?40,000 Caution fees includes - ?1,500. Fees for other category students other than general - ?39,000

Campus Life

3

Some of the annual fests held at the college include - OJAS (official techno-cultural fest of BITD), it happens around February to March. We have another flagship event - TedXBITD, which is a one day TED like event consisting of various other aspects along with motivational talks. This happens around July to August. Another social and entrepreneurship event named HultPrize takes place around January and February. Talking about the books and journals available in the library, there is a lot of variety present. The sports and extracurricular activities offered are also great. Majority of the clubs in the college are run by students.

Admission

I applied for other govt colleges like NIT Raipur, IIIT Naya Raipur and also a private college named SRM University. I choose BIT Durg because here I was selected simply in terms of merit, as compared to other govt colleges where I fell a little bit short. The reason for not getting selected in other good govt colleges was because of less number of overall marks I scored in JEE mains examination. My college selects students either on the basis of JEE mains score or a seperate exam conducted known as CGPET. After clearing the cut-off, the documentation process for the eligible students start.

Faculty

4

The faculty to students ratio is, 1 faculty for 60 students, in each class. The overall relation between the faculties and students is great, and they are very approachable. Some of the names of faculties who were amazing inclue - Sudip Bhattacharya Sir, Sumit Sar Sir, Chaitali Chaudhary Mam, Raj Kumar Singh Sir, PD Mishra Sir, Babita Verma Mam. There are in total 3 exams taking place in each semester - Class test-1, Class test-2 and End Semester exams. The overall level of the exams are easy to medium, including some hard questions also.

Placement Experience:

Final year students are eligible to appear for campus placements which starts towards the end of their 7th semester. Companies that visited for Civil Engineering: L&T, Adani, Stratview Research, PlanetSpark and several local firms. The highest packages were offered by Adani (approx 7 LPA) and L&T (6-7 LPA). Around 5-7 students received placement offers from the mentioned companies. It is important to note that a lot many students did not sit for campus placements as they had different career aspirations (government jobs, higher education, business ventures etc.) My plans were to prepare for upcoming competitive government exams as well as try my hand at something different and creative

Yeah ,the course in terms of comprehensiveness is really satisfactory. I have some issues with sequence of subjects which are covered ,but there is no compromise with the comprehensiveness. So I would rate good that too .

1. Students from seventt semester and onwards are eligible for the campus placements. 2. There are ample numbers of comapnies visited in our college like schneider electric, bpcl, bhel, bhel, reliance, catterpillar, eil, and so on. As per the last year data around 130 comapnies made in to our campus and they offered around 800 plus offers to various studenst of different departments. 3. The highets package offered this year is 60 lakhs that is offered by DE Shaw and average package is something around 11 laks per annum 4. Taking considerations of students of all departments, almost 70 percent students get placed. 5. Presently my plan after getting degree is to get into a job.

Microtex, HCL, Wipro and many other IT companies gives us research projects and also their work as well. So, we basically have indirectly worked for them and the ones they feel can add more to their organization comes with a clear mind and take us with a package that we expect them to. So, placements are purely on performance as those who perform well are given best of placements.
