Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose electronics and communication engineering as it was the rising in demand since the rise in demand for semiconductor devices. The labs and projects we do does give us a push to think more and bring out new ideas.

Placement Experience

4

Rajagiri engineering college promises a 100% placement. From the end of 3rd year which is 6th semester, placement recruitments begin and the criteria they are looking for is students who doesn't have live supply which is the key factor. Big companies like TATA,WIPRO,INTEL,TCL etc come to recruit promising engineers to their company.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees for any course you opt is 1lakh. It's applicable only to Management and NRI seats. SC and ST if through merit does have reduction in fees and some even has completely free education. NRI seat is given with donation amount which is to be paid in dollars, which is 7000USD in the form of Demand Draft.

Campus Life

3

Annual fest conducted this year would be tekshetra. Which is gonna be held this month end . There is an access to library at any time within the college premises with around 40000 books. Students can borrow any book as they please and return once they have completed it. Rajagiri has quite a basketball and badminton team which does stand on the top with other colleges. There are lots of club activities and allocated time for club every week.

Hostel Facilities

4

The rajagiri hostel is one of the best in kerala. There are about 250rooms which is of double sharing and triple sharing. The room is maintained well by the cleaning staff who comes weekly twice. The menu is rather grand for a hostel menu. Biriyani, fried rice, chapati, porotta is provided with chilly chicken or butter chicken for dinner. While lunches usually is rice and curry along with a non-veg. Registration process for hostel is done online through the rajagiri website.

Admission

I did write the exam for SRM and VIT but then since I wanted to study in kerala I chose rajagiri school of engineering and technology. Also rajagiri is a well reputed college which produces excellent engineers with innovative ideas, I wanted to study and build my career here. U need to pass the keam exam with high rank for a merit seat. But an average score could help you get a management seat.

Faculty

4

There are quite a lot of faculty in the college which belongs to different branches. I would say the faculty is quite approachable and we can clear our doubts any time we want to and they are ready to help, except for a few teachers who are short-tempered and criticizes us. I won't be naming anyone as my favourite or someone who I dislike but electronics department does a lot of sadistic teachers who purposely makes our engineering life harder. So compartively I would say the applied electronics branch has more approachable teachers. There is internals 1 and 2 which is followed by the end sem exam. Each sem contains 3exams in total. Most of the students manage to clear the exams while 1/3rd fail to do so. Course curriculum is comparatively easier compared to the KTU syllabus. Yet more harder at certain topics

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance. The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies. The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.
