Course Curriculum Overview

4

The practical sessions and use of the different equipment influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum prepares me very well for real-world applications or further academic pursuits. The course curriculum and teaching methods are great there, so there is no need for improvements. During covid-19 pandemic, the institute conducted online exams in which there are around 100 questions (MCQ type) which we need to completed within 2hrs and 30 minutes.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have paid 60,000 fees per year to NRAI School of Mass Communication for the Bachelor's in Journalism and Mass Communication, which is a three-year course. The registration fee is around 10,000 at that time. Moreover, some of my batchmates pay less or more than me, as per their financial status. I am unaware of any scholarships or financial aid this institute provides.

Campus Life

2.5

Film festivals are conducted, which are good for enhancing our skills. The facilities and technological provisions within the classrooms are good. There are no sports or extracurricular activities offered on campus. Student-run social groups, clubs, or student portals, paid a huge impact on student life.

Admission

No, I haven't applied to the other colleges. I choose this college because of its course curriculum and lectures by professional and experienced journalists and professors. No, I didn't get a rejection from other colleges. You can visit the official website of the college for the admission process.

Faculty

2

At NRAI School of Mass Communication, I have opted for a bachelor's in journalism and mass communication, which is a three-year course. The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:10. As per my experience, the faculty-to-student relationship is formal and I have face problems while approaching some of the faculties. The faculty members I liked are Bharat Bhusan and Mamta Sharma as they are very approachable and support students. There are a total of 6 exams, which was easy for me. None of the students fail to clear the exams. The course curriculum is very relevant.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Journalism was first introduced in Delhi University at DCAC. The amazing faculty and a proper media studio makes Delhi College of Arts and Commerce a perfect choice for Jouranlism aspirants. The media studio has professional mics, green screen, cameras, teleprompter, switcher and other equipment required for real life learning. The classes are full-fledged, sometimes irregular. Exams are scheduled at the end of each semester. However, internal and continous assesment happen regularly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course intending to enter the field of journalism, but unfortunately, I found the curriculum lacking in term of real-world experience. While the teaching methods were good and the faculty did their best, the core issue laay in the syllabus itself. The curriculum was heavily theory-based, with minimal emphasis on practical training, There were no opportunities for ground reporting, feature writing, or other essential field activities like that were crucial for my career. I feel that the course did not fully equip us with the hands-on experience needed to step confidentely into industry

This course sounds very interesting and covers a large spectrum of topics. There are a total of 60 students in the class of 2024, which is further divided into two sections of 30 students each. The faculty is very well read and the classes are interactive. We have frequent debates and discussions on some very interesting topics. The exams are held semester wise every 4-5 months. The difficulty level is not much when it comes to passing the examinations.
