Remarks
This college, well my college is not the typical mega campus college like in Bollywood movies, this college doesn't even have a mini campus, let alone a mega campus and I mean it does not have one at all, so the biggest con is lack of infrastructure. Why this college then? I'd have to tell you, it fits my personality, direct and to the point, the college serves its purpose well and oh have I told you, it's a production house too ran by actor, director, producer @Nalin Singh, am not a diehard fan of my college nor him and the review is strictly bias, it has good faculty, excellent I should say because the faculties are not your typical professors, they are working journalists or social activists currently working in the industry so we have that hands on experience and knowledge we don't get anywhere else, so yeah the concept of learning is not bookish and conventional, and I like that. The admission process is simple and can start enrolling online from late June. www.nraismc.com
Course Curriculum Overview
About the course, BJMC actually would've been a lot more interesting if it was done offline, nevertheless the college tries its best to give the best immersive experience and holds 2 offline practical classes, which is well appreciated, but now due to the lockdown that stands cancelled. the faculty like I said is excellent, and the ratio is not mediocre but not overwhelming again, I'd say it's well balanced, the fact that we get at least three different faculties every 5 working days, the online classes is not long and fits perfectly fine into our schedule, two hours every day, one subject per day so that is convenient, here the faculties don't focus on the bookish knowledge but on the relevant skills to thrive in the industry, the teaching and the concept is professional and practical and you won't have that anywhere else, coming to exams, we just had our first semester and I'd say the questions were relevant well if you keep proper notes and listen well, you're up to speed.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, we have on campus and off-campus internships but I am yet to get there, we are eligible from the second year and we are expecting to have a stipend starting from 10,000 with companies like Zee corporation, Aajtak, NDTV, Doordarshan etc.
Placement Experience
Am in my first year but after the first semester which was last month, if everything reopens, we'll hopefully have an internship opportunity in production houses and news channels to ensure job security and hands on working experience so the fact that it is in the second year is quite impressive other than that I don't have much knowledge on the placement as I have not experienced it yet but from what I have seen, read and acknowledge the placement is above mediocre and sets itself apart and stands out from other colleges as more practical and industrially more related and close to the real world corporations so my plan after graduation is to get a good placement and start working ASAP, I can't tell you the exact percentage of the placement but I can tell you, NRAI is known for its high rate of successful placement. some of the companies are Zee News, NDTV, Aajtak, Navbharat times, those are the few of the big ones, we are expected to expect more.
Fees and Financial Aid
the fee structure is as follow: 6 semesters over the course of 3 years, 32,000 per semester so that is 1lac ninety two thousand rupees, so that's the total course fee, no other extra fees. that is affordable and that's coming from a middle-class family. the course is a value for money, it delivers in the long run, all thanks to the great faculty. There is no scholarship information as of now but one great perk is that you get internships in news channels or production houses as per your liking and of course, your performance review and that is in the second year itself so am looking forward to that, so yeah good exposure to the working industry, ensuring your job after graduation so that's a good plan and if nothing interrupts it's a smooth sail. so my takeaway is that, if you're picky about green grass and orchard tree filled campus, this college is definitely not it for you, but if you are all for that sweet and fast road to hit a good job right after your graduation ahem, go for it!
Campus Life
Ok so this college is a 3 floored building in the busy street located near the Indian oil building in the green park so don't expect anything there's no campus just the building which is also a production house so, but yes there are fests and such but I haven't experienced any yet, because normal classes haven't resumed yet but we did go to the Aravali International film fest in April with a free pass so yeah, perks, nothing much special about the classroom, dingy, with poor lighting and the experience is underwhelming, you can't help but wish there was more to it. I mean it's a production company and a media school right? but yeah it feels bare minimum and quite basic. but who knows, when the class returns to normal we might actually have more. there are no extracurricular activities that I have engaged in but as of now, we can't even get a decent class yet so that shouldn't be expected of now. the online class is in full swing though. as of online presence we have a youtube channel.
