Likes

The faculty is very kind and supportive towards the students.
The labs and workshops are very good which helps in enhancing the skills.
Along which the academics, there are many co-curriculam activities also which we enjoy.

Dislikes

Processing and approval of Duty Leaves takes a bit long time.
The details of faculty like their subjects and qualification are not transparent.
Lots of assignments and other work but these are also helpful for us.

I chose this course because I have keen interest in space and spacecrafts and I wanna do something in the field of spacecrafts. The reason I opted for Chandigarh University is the labs, workshops and the facilities available here as for Aerospace, there is a Kalpana Chawla Space centre through which we can have live monitoring through the satellites in collaboration with ISRO.

Internships Opportunities

It offers lots of internship opportunities as the faculty is supportive and also the clubs formed for the information helps a lot. The groups formed for internship updates are really helpful for internship opportunities.

Placement Experience

Chandigarh University offers various opportunities including campus placements as for aerospace in companies like Boeing. It offers a semester exchange program which will enhance the overall skills and resume of the individual. Also a study abroad program in which you can have your half degree in Chandigarh University and the rest in a foreign University.

Fees and Financial Aid

The general fees for Aerospace is Rs.2.41 LPA but I have scored more than 90% in my 12th board exams so I have got 50% scholarship. Also there is a CUCET test on the basis of which you can avail upto 100% scholarship. For securing your seat, you have to pay Rs.10,000 and rest of the fees you can pay later. Also there is Rs.2000 security and Rs.2500 examination fees per semester. For SC/ST category there is 100% scholarship. During the course you have to join minimum one academic club whose charges are Rs.100 to be a member.

Campus Life

Campus Life is far better than other colleges. The campus is so big and there is much to explore in 250 acres. The club and other co-curriculam activities are also enjoyable and have fun. If you opt for this college you will enjoy the night events for which it is famous for.

Admission

The reason I opted Chandigarh University is the facilities, labs and workshops available here for the better understanding of the students and enhancing their skills. The admission process is simple, you need minimum 60% in 12th with PCM subjects.

Faculty

The faculty available is very good and supportive which always helps us in every problem we face. The exam structure is like you will have two MSTs in one semester and a final exam, a lab assessment and a lab MST having viva, performance and worksheets. The marking system is on the basis of the highest marks obtained in the subject by any student like if a student scored 10/20 and it is the highest marks scored by any student in the exam then the students who scored 9/20 will be marked 90%. The marks will be judged on the basis of highest marks. It is a comparative marking system

Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

Life at CGC Landran

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

How can Lovely Professional University change your way of life.

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak.That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.

Chandigarh University - My experience from fees to social life

I gave cucet but can't find the college that have cse in their colleges. That time my father was recently posted in chandigarh as chandigarh university was very close to me and the transport is also easy and I don't have to pay the hostel fees and I can be a day scholar also so I choosed this college as it provide a good network of peoples. The admission process was to simple ,I just applied for their entrance online exam cucet and booked a slot gave online test of 100 mcq from the selected domain and after that I got scholarship and to confirm my seat I have to pay 10000 part of my semester fees (that 10000 was from my semester fees) and after doing online formalities and upload document. I got a call that you can come to university and attend classes. The admission process of too simple so I never taught of choosing other college at that time....Read More

A Student's Perspective ( Chandigarh University ) in Review

I haven't applied for other colleges because i was convinced for the college only my some of the friends were already studying in this college they told me everything about is and i also researched so much about this college before admission. Also the number of companies visits for placement was large. Admission process was simple When you visit their website and you show interest for admission they gives you and personal counsellor Who tells you about the admission process sometime if you stuck in every step they do it for you. there are two processes 1 is 12th merit based which is a direct entry if you got above 90 percent in your 12th Standard and 2ND - CUCET Enterance exam which is compulsory for Non direct Admissions There is nothing like cutoff in this exam this is a selection based exam but you have to get more than 40% marks in this exam for scholarship....Read More
