Remarks

It's a good college for MBSS.Post graduation is also available but there is separate entrance exam for that. Patient exposure is very high. So,you can learn a lot of things in your UG and PG days.Internship is also a goid opportunity.

it's a long course It is 5.5 yrs.So you can understand that you have to go through many things. There are total 19 subjects and every month there will be exam e.g. part exam, semester, University exam.

Placement Experience

yes there is internship after 4.5 yr.Intership is of 1 yr and stipend is around 23k.As it is not an engineering or management college,there is no placement like that. But yes,you can go for housestaffship in this college after completing MBBS.

College Events

there is annual cultural festival Roshnai and Spandan.Roshnai is for college's own students where they perform songs,recitation,debates dance,quiz etc.Spandan is a ceremony where singers come here from Bollywood or any band and they perform in college ground.

Fee Structure And Facilities

it is feasible.It is around 4.5k/semester and there is total 9 semesters. So,fee is very low as compared to any private college. Hostel fee is also nominal.Apart from that, there is annual exam fees which is around 2000 per year.

scholarship is not directly provided by college. But yes,you can apply for various scholarships available in your 1st year from different company and government also.It is based on merit and income of family.

Campus Life

labs are available in biochemistry, pathology, physiology, pharmacology, microbiology.There are opportunities for various sports like basketball,table tennis,carrom.There is a big play ground where students can play cricket, football etc.

Yes,alumni are in various reputed places of India and abroad.Seniors are helpful.They can guide you in your study.You can ask them your doubts and they are happy to help to you.you should be in touch with your seniors.

Faculties are good.Starting from anatomy,physiology, biochemistry , pathology, microbiology, pharmacology,forensic medicine,ent,eye, community medicine to surgery,medicine, g&o, pediatrics , faculties are helpful.You have to extract knowledge from them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite well maintained till 3rd year but the final year syllabus is too vast to complete within 1 year. I feel duration has to be increased a bit. The process of acquiring knowledge entirely depends on the individual pursuing this course as there is no spoonfeeding as in other courses.

Placement Experience:

If you can pass the exam that is very tough to pass if you're not serious at all, you'll be able enough to get into any nursing home or you can start treating people staring your own clinic. After 4.5 years you get the internship program that is mandatory to do for all where you get a salary of 32000 per month which is highest among all states . If you manage to be in the top 100 students of the batch of 250 you get one year job in the same hospital with a fees of 50000 and just 48 hours duty per week. If you do nursing home you can get around 70-90k per month based on how much you spent time on work .

Review on Burdwan Medical College

Initially, I got admitted into Bankura Sammilani Medical College based on the WB NEET UG counselling results. But in the second round, I got the chance to upgrade BMC which is closer to my home and so I chose it. It is one of the older colleges in WB, established in the year 1969 and has one of the largest campuses in the state. My admission was done in the first week of September 2017. As I had already got admitted to BSMC earlier, I just had to transfer the documents and the overall admission process was smooth and not very time consuming. It is MCI recognized and a renowned college in our state. The college is overall good and has provided good memories of the time I have been here. However few improvements are still possible. Infrastructure can be improved a whole lot. Beautification of our college has been going on for some time and it has already been improved from what it was when I got admitted here 4 years back....Read More
