Entrance Exam

The course which I have taken here is metallurgical and materials engineering which is among the four branches with which NIT Jamshedpur started its BTech program. Metallurgical and materials engineering is a subject which has a lot of scopes in the future as well as you will definitely get placed from campus selection into any decent company.

Yes, my college does provide internship but only to the computer science and engineering department. I have not done this internship so I don't have any experience to share. Only thing I can say is that there is selection procedure for that.

The placement here is a lot better than when you see from outside. Although it's overall rank lies below to many NIT but the placement here is of top-notch quality and nearly everyone gets placed. Lots of chances of getting double placement.

Two major events are celebrated in my college when is cultural fest known as culfest while the other is technical fest known as ojass. You will get to see some celebrities mainly in culfest. apart from that two other branches celebrate their own fest.

The fee structure is nearly 2 lakh per year or we say 1 lakh per semester. St and sc category don't have to pay the tuition fee also OBC and general whose total family annual income are less than 1 lakh don't have to pay the tuition fee while the OBC and general category students whose family annual income is less than 5 lakh have to pay one-third of the tuition fee. Tuition fee is fixed as of now it is 125000 per year.

Lots of scholarship can be availed by the student also a student can easily get a loan from State Bank of India which is in the college itself. For the scholarship, you have to see the terms and condition and choose only one from all according to your matching criteria.

Labs are good but not up to the mark. People here actively participate in sports also annual sports meet named urja happens, where you can earn a lot of money medal and certificate. The college has separate teams for cricket football hockey etc and also these teams go to other NIT or other college tours for competition.

Hostel infrastructure here at NIT Jamshedpur is one of the best. All the BTech students get a single seated room each year. Two newly formed mega hostels consisting of seven storeys building each adds a lot to the hostel infrastructure.

The alumni network here is very strong and that is very helpful for the placement. Also, alumni meet happen every year. Alumni of this college is really helpful in every term. Alumni of this college are holding major positions in many companies.

The exams here are conducted in two parts for 1 semester. The first part is mid sem examination and the second part is end sem examination. Med sem examination consists of 30% of marks in each subject while end sem examination consists of 50% of marks in each subject and the rest 20% belongs to the teacher.

To take admission in this college or we say in any NIT one have to give JEE main. The all India rank of the main should be less than 30k or 35000 for the general category to get any branch in this college.

Like in any college the faculties here also are of mixed quality but they are highly qualified. Some of the faculty teaches really well, while others try to teach well. Many of the faculties in my branch have done their MSc from foreign universities.
