Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The reason I wanted to choose nmims even after I got into many other colleges was because it offered a very interesting syllabus and curriculum. A lot of major subjects in Psychology are taught through all the 8 semesters making it very interesting and informative for students to further decide what they want to do in the field. The university offers credentials which are widely accepted for studying and working out of India. The university focuses on the primary principles of not encouraging rote learning and making learning a fun and memorable experience.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

There is an internship committee too which helps students find internships during the summer breaks and also throughout the year. The college gives placements too after the completion of the degree. The internships provided include opportunities at Hospitals,Oldage homes, special schools, orphanages, mental hospitals etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wide fees for my course is 2,00,000 rupees and I haven't opted for any scholarship because honestly there weren't any. The tution fees is 1,10,000 rupees, security deposit is 5000, library deposit is 1000,laboratory deposit is 1000,developmental fees is 25,000 and OTHER fees is 58,000. I am not aware of financial aids provided to my batchmates.

Campus Life

4.5

As mentioned earlier, the college is very supportive of social interaction between peers and seniors and a lot of sub committees are present under the umbrella psychology committee of the psychology department. Mental Illness Awareness Week, Suicide Prevention Day, TedXNMIMS, Psych Film fest, etc are the few events organised by the department. These events offer EACH AND EVERY student to be a part whether they are a part of the committee or not and involvement in these also have marks making it more encouraging for students to participate. There is also a sports committee organising many sports events promoting sports significance of physical health. The libraries have all the resource books which the students need and there are enough study areas too.

Admission

I was admitted to almost all the colleges I applied for including Amity, Somaiya, St.Andrews, Nagindas Khandwala, National College. Firstly the most significant amd important of all points as to why I chose NMIMS is that it offers an Hons. Degree in Bsc Applied Psychology making it the ideal course for me which none of the colleges I got accepted to had. Somaiya, Nagindas and Amity did have a Bsc course but the curriculum was not as extensive and something I was interested in. Seeing the syllabus and description for the course at NMIMS I instantly knew this is what I want to do! The admission in NMIMS was done through an entrance examination which was conducted online and the eligibility was 50%+ percentage in 12th boards or similar exams and people from all streams were eligible.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is very supportive, kind and understanding to the students. They are very open to suggestions and feedback's and genuinely make sure to work on it. All the faculties know what they're teaching and the syllabus is taught very clearly. In one year there are two semesters. Each semesters have two exams being the ICA (mid terms) and the Final Term End Exams

Other Applied Colleges

Nagindas Khandwala College | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Psychology)

Because Nagindas is a college very well known for a very bad crowd and not good teachers and overall studying experience

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Course Curriculum Overview:

While searching on internet I got to know about this course that's where I earned interest for this course that made choose this course. The practical knowledge shared by the faculty at their best helps for real life applications but still practical knowledge is gained beyond college course pattern which can be gain in internships. By providing more practical knowledge beyond the theory part of the course may help students greatly by learning real life experiences. Exams are usually held by morning at the college timing (9:30 am).

Since we are secknd batch of data science we don't know much about how is the placement for data science students. There are good placements for bms students. I will be doing master after this degree and won't opt for placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because of the teachers who teach that. I had my siblings telling me that they love the way their teachers taught them. They make it so easy to understand and give you so much advice to grow and have great success. Also, this college is just a treasure of other curriculum activities. Once you got to know that they held those kinda functions over these years you can't resist and will participate in those functions. As it the course was difficult but teachers will make it easy they will guide you in any problem that you have and encourage you to learn more skills so you can be more successful.
