- The placement is good if the student is good and used the four years to learn and develop skills.
- The culture and the festivals are one of the best in this region, you have a lot of exposure through different means

- The course sturcture does not have a holistic approach and tends to focus more on academic development rather than skill development
Course Curriculum Overview
The subjects that are taught throughout the course are relevant and are good but they were following the 2018 regulation when we were freshers and so there was a lot of gap in the current trends and what was being taught to us at that point. Recently there has been a lot of changes that was introduced for out juniors and their curriculum is much more advanced and up to date. Even if you are good at studying, it is better to develop relevant skills recquired for the industry as that is something that will not be taught in the curriculum but you can develop iyt through various Clubs present in SRM or by participation in Hackathons conducted in the university. Even though it isnt part of the course structure, teachers do help you out to understand what is important and what can be done. For furthur academic persuits the course studying now is very helpful and also since the Class tests are conducted every month but it isnt very difficult, this helps you revise the basics of all the topics.
Placement Experience
The placement season for our batch ,i.e, 2025 batch started in the month of july and it is still going on. Many students have gotten good offers with the hightest package going upto 52 LPA offered by Microsoft till now, Since it is just September and theres 3 more months for the palcemnet season to get over we can expect the highest package to increase, DEfinitely SRM provides a lot of oppertunities For CSE branch as most of the companies are software companies, but there still are a lot of companies that come fro core branches as well with great packages. I got placed in Schneider Electric which is a core company. S
Fees and Financial Aid
I got enrolled in the ECE department in 2021 and the annual fees for the same was 250000.The registeration fees for the examination was approximately Rs.3500 and after the that the caution money taken was Rs. 10000. Since there is merit based scholarship aswell but i was nit applicable for the same and so i took admission normally. The merit based scholarship is usually for the first year only and based on your academics the fees is reduced. During the entire course we only have ti pay the tuition fees which is 250000 anually and the semester exam fees of Rs. 3500 every semester
Campus Life
As I already mentioned, the campus is really good, the campus life is even better. SRM is known for festivals like Milan and Aarush and they do tend to be entertaining and fun. there are tons of clubs and student run groups in the technical as well as not technical domain and most of the students are in one or the other group. MAny hackatghons, Ideathons, Tech talks, Workshops etc. are conducted frequently
Hostel Facilities
I was in the hostel for the first 3 years of my college, I was in M Block which is a girls hostel. The hostel is great when it comes to facilities but the food for me was good but a lot of my foreinds did not like it so it varies what you like person to person. The food on an average is managable but the cost of the hostel is high so not everyone can find it affordable. The hostel registeration is done yearly and every year based on your needs you can choose the hostel. There are 5 girls hostel out of which M BLock is the best but it is a lot stricter than the other hostels. The intime is 7:00pm so that is annoying and the rules and regukations for going out on holidays and festivities are also very strict. I recently shifted toi a PG in guduvancehry near the college becuse it is my last year anad I find this to be a much more affordable and better option. The food is alright and managabke here aswell.
Admission
I was a JEE aspirant just like a million students out there, I was good at academics but did not join the standard tuitions for preparation and rather studied in a small tuition which was CBSE focused, so I was performing well till 11th Grade but during the pandemic, I lost all focus and so ,y academics suffered. With a percentile of 92.3 i wasnt able to get any good government colleges and so i applied tp SRM and VIT. But later decided to take a drop and so i Didnt take admission in VIT even though i cleared the exam. SRM had its exam deadline extended and so later my parents advised me to just get admission in SRM and perform well there and so did not go ahead with the idea of drop. The process was simple and i got my admission letter after clearing the exam and selecting the branch I wanted to get admission in. I am not aware about the cutoff for CSE and ECE now.
Faculty
I do not know the exact student to faculty ratio but approximately fro every 60-100 students therewill be 1 faculty. Faculty are friendly but it depends as to how the student behaves in class. The faculty sometimes tend to be linent but for our department mostly all of them are pretty strict. They will help and guide you if you show interest in a subject and seek guidance but do not expect to be smothered. I cannot specify the names of the faculty that i like but there are quite a few, specifically professors and assitant professors who taught me Analog and Digital Electronics. There are also quite a few who I did not like because even though they do know the subject they do not know how to teach it and beacuse of that we face a lot of problems understanding the subject properly and getting the key concepts.
