Life in HKBK college of engineering.

For me because this field is about computer science and I already have lot of interest in learning stuff about computer, that's why i choose this course. To be honest, this course curriculum is not sufficient for the real world applications, but it can be helpful for furthur academic pursuits. Yes the teaching methods should change from just reading from the pdf notes to explaining about the topic with example. The frequency of the exams is like 1 internal exam per month consisting of 1 adn 1/2 module like 1st module full and 2nd module half and the duration is 1:15 hr. Difficulty is between easy - medium

from the 7th semseter you become elegible for the placement. Current as far as i saw all campany name is very new and i didn't saw any company that i already know about. Meaning i think they maybe a very small company or just some small service base company. I think the number of offer they are making are about 2-3 students per opening. The highes package for my senior batch is around 14LPA but i head he left that company, i don't know the real reason why but heard that that company is not good and the in hand is very less from the CTC. The average package is around 3.5 to 4LPA mostly and most of the profile are associate engineer and software engineer. The percentage of student getting place is very less to the amount of student are there in the batch. I don't have specific plan for now after getting degree.

Since I am from management seat type for me the tuition fee for the 4 years was as follows; 1st year - 225000/- 2,3,4 year - 140000/- I don't on what basis but they gave me a scholarship of 2000/- on the first year tuition fees. Now I heard that fees for the new students are increased and heard that for the first year they are collecting around 5L and nearly 3L from second year onwards for B.tech CSE. Skill lab fee - 5000/- one time payment Other fees like lab record book is to be paid if you have lab subject 100/- per record book. For CET student tuition fees is around 80k per year what I heard from my friend. Hoste fees - 80k (2-sharing only) per year including mess also. For booking of hostel you have to pay Rs 10k advance to book room.

There is one annual festival call CALYPSO and it is the only good festival that our colege conducts and it's really entertaining. It is only held once in year and in month of JUNE. And there is also one food fest conducted and it is also once a year. There are lots of books and journal available in the library and i don't know exactly how many of them are there as i only been there once. The facilites and the technological provisions within the classroom is very poor except some classes which have smart boards. The projector in most of the classes are very much outdated and doesn't work properly. The desk are now getting replaced with new benches but still they are very uncomfortable to sit. The sporst facility is very poor and we ony have one small football ground at the entrance and one basketball ground which is super slippery and no other proper facility of sports. But they do conduct sports competition between department and go outside to compete. Clubs are just for showcasing

You will be assigned in a 2 sharing room randomly and i think you can make req if you have friends joining with you. But the room is quite big for two people and two cup board with two desk and chairs and one fan. The meal quality is quite poor and the menus is mix north and south indian. They keep changing the catering service and the food is not imporving at all. You just have to pay 10000/- for booking for you hostel room. There are lots and lots of PG near our college, I would recomment first year trying to stay in hostel and hunt for PG from second year if you don't like hostel. There are lots of PG options and easily you can get PG.

The first college i applied for was LPU and I passed the LPU nest test with category 3 scholarship and was ready to join. But suddenly i got a call from them and told me that my math marks for the 12th standard doesnt meet the requirement, so i couldn't take the course at LPU. I choose this college is because the admission is really easy for management and also i was in rush of applying other college after not getting into LPU and also this college fees are descent and the level of strictness is not very strict. So ovarall i liked this college after joining here. The admission process is really simple just apply to the website on hkbk website and you will get call from them and you just need to give the details of your 10 and 12th standard result. I think CET exams are accepted and also COMEDK. but i don't know anyone who got through this seat so can't give much detail. The overall admission process for the managment is really smooth and easy.

The faculty to student ratio is kind of ok for our batch, but i think now the faculty to student ratio will decrease since the intake of the student have been increase. And the faculty to student relationship are really good, almost all the faculty are very good and friendly. I can't name the faculty but yh most of the faculty i liked them but there are some faculty whom i don't really like but neither i hate them. The reason i don't like them is they way of teaching the subject with over strictness in the class. There are 3IA's and all of them are out of 40. It is conducted every end of the month but date may vary base on the situation. There are very less number of student who fail because papers are really easy and you can pass easily if you have small idea on the subject. It is fully relevant to the course curriculum.
