The positive thing about college is the environment here is very friendly. The pressure of studies is less compared to other colleges. From curricular activities, it is also rated as good. But on the other side, the negative thing is the faculty here is not good. There so many corruption & politics inside.

Entrance Exam, Merit List

IIT ISM Dhanbad offers versatile course starting from undergraduate, Postgraduate to Doctorate level. There is numerous department available in IIT ISM Dhanbad like CSE, EE, ECE, ME, Mining Engineering, Petroleum Engineering and so on. Apart from it each of the department has its own versatile courses.

Yes, IIT ISM provides internship. What about the stipend it is not known. Students are also encouraged & are allowed to do an Internship in an outside organization. As the college has good bonding with Coal India, they send students for training there.

The placement of IIT(ISM) Dhanbad is good for B.Tech only. For M.tech very few companies come for placement. B. Tech placements company are coal India, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Volvo-Eicher, L&T Infotech. The college has very good collaboration with Coal India.

Fee Structure of My college is quite affordable. A common fact we know that engineering is not that much cheap you have to pay at least 60000 per year So in my college fees is 60000 per year. But you can get there concession on behalf of education.

In the college, there is the provision of getting a scholarship from TEQUIP as well. In M.Tech, students scoring CGPA more than 8.5 will get the scholarship from TEQUIP for the duration of one year. They are also the provision of sponsorship.

The Institute possesses an array of sports infrastructure for students. The Students’ Activity Centre is equipped with all sorts of indoor sports activities like badminton, table tennis, billiards, yoga hall, Karata hall, boxing arena, chess hall, carom hall, handball court, gyms with all equipment of international standard, one Swimming pool of dimension of 50 m x 18 m. One can enjoy swimming under the supervisor of highly qualified coaches and lifeguards. The outdoor facilities include two big playgrounds namely Lower ground and Upper Ground with the provision of the athletic track of 400 m and football in Lower Ground, while Cricket could be played in the Upper Ground

There is an alumnus in IIT ISM Dhanbad which is also known as Alma connect. It is very helpful. Several opportunities are discussed over there. From ISM there are several people in the alumni who are working in various prestigious institution /organization across the globe.

The Exams are divided into two parts. In every subject, you have to give one mid-semester and one major semester. The weightage of mid-semester is 20% and weightage of the major semester is 70%. In some subjects, there may or may not be the project which also carries marks in final. Apart from this, some subjects have lab also. 10% of marks are dedicated for assignments.

In IIT ISM for admission in B.Tech, one has to crack IIT JEE Exam. But for postgraduate admission, there are two ways of taking students. One is from directly via gate score. IIT ISM also conducts all India entrance test for taking admission in post graduation. This is the second option.

The faculty of IIT ISM is moderate. Some are good, qualified and experienced but some are not. It depends on the department to department. Many faculties are hired from other IITs/NIT levels. All of the faculty has Ph.D. degree except very few.
