Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I have choosed CSE data science as everything now a days requires data manipulation and its arrangement or data presentation The curriculum really helps for solving real world and IT sector problems by analyzing and arranging data My suggestion that should be implemented in classes of computer is do more practical work than the theory work in that way students will remember things for a longer period of time The timing of exam along with there difficulty is good you are prepared enough by the time they take exams and all the questions are topic related so there's no problem in that

Internships Opportunities

4

As being a 1st year student i personally don't have any internship experience but talking with few seniors they told that there experience regarding internship was good one of them got internship in TCS with monthly pay of 10000

Placement Experience

4

From 5th sem the student becomes eligible for campus placement and talking about the overall placement of the college is good with approximately 90% of placement records Companies which visited are - TCS,BYJUS,ZSCALER,ACCENTURE,BAJAJ FINANCE with ZSCALER offering highest package of 26.5LPA Placement percentage is 90% My plan is to secure a good campus placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fee for taking admission in btech cse is 191000 per year in which lab fee , development fee etc are included for hostel you need to pay 84000 per year as of 2024 They also provide a lot of scholarship like if you score between rank 1 to 20 in GIETEE then your tuition fee will be upto 50000 per annum In JEE mains if your rank is in between 25001 to 100000 then also your annual fee will be 50000 For resident of odisha with more than 75% in state board or more than 8.5 CGPA in CBSE/ICSE board your annual fee will be 50000

Campus Life

4

So we have a huge fest called SHRUJAN this year it was held from 10th February to 12th February in which both technology and culture meets in a unique way. All kind of books related to business, politics, history, science, technology etc are available in the library with very easy access to them. We have projectors in each class for easy access to the practical features of computer science and every classroom is equipped with cctv cameras for security purposes Talking about sports and extracurricular activities we have 4 badminton courts and one ground for cricket and football with a separate volleyball court we also have a indoor table tennis court and a swimming pool We also have sports club for encouraging students to fulfill their dreams of becoming an athlete.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel rooms were provided with tables chairs and wardrobe for cloths it is also equipped with wifi and security cameras Washroom are nice and every week it is been cleaned Talking about mess food it is mixture of south Indian with some north Indian dishes and it is tasty but a little bit oily Registration process for hostel was easy and was done during course registration at the college Comparing its rate with local pg it would cost the same so we choosed to stay in campus hostel only

Admission

First i wanted to take admission in DIT dehradun because of its location and city exposure of dehradun but the return on investment (ROI) was not satisfying at all they were charging high amount of fee then i came to know about GIET through friends and relatives after researching on this college i found out that the ROI is quite good here and online reviews were also better one more thing that traveling to gunupur was easier than traveling to dehradun which made me choose this college over DIT

Faculty

3.5

The faculty of the college is nice in some cases they don't speak proper hindi they know odia well so sometimes you have communication problems The student to faculty ratio is 1:15 They are approachable and friendly and always ready to help you regarding your issue Some faculty members like paid canteen staff they don't know hindi so sometimes we face communication problem Other than that rest of the faculty members they behave very nicely and we have a good connection with them Regarding exams we have class tests , cycle test and semester exams Class tests are conducted every week and the questions are easy straight on the topic About cycle test it is like mid sems which is conducted twice in between one semester which is of 40 marks and it is also easy the question asked in this test are easy to moderate level and all the questions are related to the topic which we are taught in class

Placement Experience:

Placements at KIIT University for B.Tech CSE are decent and well structured, especially for students who prepare consistently. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester, although pre placement talks training sessions and internships start from the 5th or 6th semester. The university has a centralized placement cell that coordinates training aptitude tests mock interviews and company drives. Many reputed companies visit the campus every year including TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini Deloitte EY Mindtree LTI Bosch HP Amazon and a few product based startups. Mass recruiters make a large number of offers while product and service based companies offer selective roles. The average package for CSE students usually ranges between 4 to 5 LPA, while the highest package can go above 20 to 25 LPA in exceptional cases depending on the company and role such as software developer or data engineer. Around 75 to 85 percent of CSE students get placed through campus placements. Students who remain unplaced usually pursue higher studies startups off campus jobs or competitive exam preparation. Placement success largely depends on individual effort coding skills internships and communication ability. After completing my degree I plan to work in the software industry to gain practical experience and improve my technical skills. Alongside my job I also plan to upskill in advanced technologies and later consider higher studies or specialized roles depending on career growth.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIIT Bhubaneswar are generally good and improving, especially for students who stay consistent with coding, projects, and internships. In my college, students usually become eligible for campus placements from around the 7th semester (4th year), while many students start getting internship opportunities and pre-placement offers from the 5th–6th semester itself depending on skills. Every year, companies from the software and IT domain visit the campus for roles like Software Developer / SDE, QA, Analyst, Web Developer, and sometimes Data-related roles, and students also get offers through off-campus applications. Some of the common recruiters include companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, along with product/startup opportunities depending on the year, and multiple students receive more than one offer as well. The highest package and average package vary every year and depend a lot on branch, performance, and market conditions, but overall the college provides decent placement support and training sessions like aptitude, DSA guidance, and interview preparation. The placement percentage is also fairly good for students who actively participate in the placement process, while the rest generally go for higher studies or off-campus roles. After completing my degree, my plan is to either secure a good software developer role through campus/off-campus and build experience, or if I feel more interested academically, I may prepare for higher studies or competitive exams along with improving my skills.

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Curriculum is like ok for an govt engineering college not like an iit/nit. There are many departments where equipments are very old & haven't changed for a long time. Exams are conducted very fast like mid sem is conducted in 1/1.5 months and end sem is in 2 months

Campus placement i thik it's in your 4 year of engineering only i.e in your 6 semester. There is a lot of companies visited like jsw ,hindulgo and a lot to go . Jsw provides avg package of INR 12 LPA And it selected only 2 students only. I think girls get placement easily as compared to boys ... companies usually select more female candidates....I think I will go for job rather than doing masters degree.
