Course Curriculum Overview
BDS is a very intriguing degree for those who love science and art. It includes intricate details,you have to work in millimetres of tooth surface. Currently,it needs more emphasis on practical work . Frequency of exams is alright,the course in itself includes day to day challenges for getting a single step of whole process done.
Internships Opportunities
Internship is necessary for mbbs and Bds both. We get a stipend of 11-12000 per month in internship. Students from other colleges also come for internship in this college,but for that they have to pay a certain amount.
Fees and Financial Aid
For Bds or mbbs,at time of admission,you pay 54000 rs for general category or if you have taken admission via Aiq counseling. Then after that,every year from second year onwards,you have to pay 30,900+7500(exam fees). It is divided as Tuition fees:18,000 for general category 9,000 for OBC,SC,ST categories Others:4000 Development:2000 Hostel fee:3600(double seated) 2400(single seated) Electricity:3500(double seated) 2500(single seated) Library:2000 Exam fee:7500 For OBC,SC,ST tuition fees is reduced by 9000,so you pay a total of 21,900+7500 rs. Scholarships can be applied via Up scholarship or via any other platforms.
Campus Life
Many events take place in KGMU,main is Rhapsody For first years it's freshers. Saraswati Pooja is also "the big event",takes place every year. It's really fun in Rhapsody,it's a three day fest including a plethora of extracurricular activities. Library of our college is one of the best,you need a library card for studying there,mostly from second year. You can easily issue a book or for instance,pyqs for your course. Clubs of college are made every year,and interested students can go there for elections,they include cultural groups, administration groups etc
Hostel Facilities
Rooms of hostel are just fine. For first year girls,they are provided with Ug hostel ,it has 6 floors. If you get a room on 6th floor , consider yourself lucky,it has attached bathrooms . In second year ,you get ug-2 ,all of its rooms have attached baths. From third year onwards,mbbs girls get VL hall,Bds girls get Dk hostel. Both of them have rooms, provided with table chair,bed,you have to get your own mattress and cooler or heater. Every year you pay bill for cooler of 1000 rs per month.
Admission
I scored 600 in neet ug ,and cut-off for mbbs was 597 in my State,UP,but in the last round. But I had opted for this college in second round of Aiq counseling. Initially,I wanted MAIDS, DELHI,as it is the top most college for BDS also But when I came here,I realised that I indeed landed in one of the best places .
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is good enough,their relationship is also good and interactive. Jrs and srs are helpful From anatomy department,Dr Noor ma'am and Dr Fahad Samadi sir from dental anatomy department,they were the best pillars fir all of us. Taught us very well , explained every aspect of the human body . Fir MBBS,2 terminals and one final professional exams . For BDS,1 terminal exam and final professional exams. Weekly and monthly tests are nothing new fir a medical college. Most of the students pass,if they are regular and study even fir the monthly exams
