What Students Say
Likes
- 1st thing is I like the campus life very much, it is very pleasent atmosphere. Great people to socialise with, I have personally made very special bonds with people from various different branches
- 2nd is the importance here given to extra curricular activities, I am a musician and the amount of opportunities I got here is just phenomenal. I gave more concerts in just one year than my whole music life and also meet a lot of people from here
- 3rd is course syllabus which very much relavant to the domain which we have chosen and also keeps up with current day job market requirements upto certain extent.
Dislikes
- 1st is there are very good faculties and rest others are just people with little to less subject knowledge, sometimes we wonder how they even managed to get a job here.
- Then comes the fee rush, although they give us really good facilities they pressurize students in paying the fees, the total annual fee has to be cleared before 1st internals or else you won't be given hall ticket and hence you won't write internals.
- They have plenty of good resources but they don't know how to utilise and manage it, due to which everything else they do falls apart.
Course Curriculum Overview
here they provide us with many different options of specialization which will be engaged from 4th sem onwards, it is pretty useful to have specialization to get a better job. The curriculum syllabus is both really good n a bit irrelavant too, becuae it has many core subjects like stock marketing, business communication, apart from the common accounting subjects, but there are subjects like company law and financial practises which is just simply of no use to our domain core. They can start adding more certification courses along with curriculum syllabus the one which are currently booming in job market, in that way we will have a upper hand in getting a job, they should also remove few faculties who dont contibute anything in building students career. About the exams, after 1 month of the classes commencement of each sem 1st internals will take place for 1st half of syllabus and after 1 more month we will have 2nd internals followed by Semester end examination after 1 month, it is easy.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are very important for a student to geta job regardless of branch. So reva has built something called 'REVA NEST', it is a career incubation center where a lot of students get internships from various companies through Reva Nest. Students work on their projects and designs and file patents for their work. This programme is very useful as it also provides a on board working office space to students who are doing intenships or projects regardless of time and payment. Few students get placed in the same company in whuch they were doing internship even before placements begins.
Placement Experience
Placements in REVA is actually great they train us very well for getting a good placement, usually the placement process starts from 5th sem i.e, final year. We have something called CDC Career Development Center where students get trained on how to build their career in any field.REVA also has a branch called REVA Nest it a incubation center which helps students to get a internship after 1st year and also provides a working space for students who are doing internship could be part time or full time, some times paid with stipend sometimes not, it is available for students of all branches. The highest package as of this 2024 is 30LPA and whereas for 2023 was 50LPA, average package comes around 9LPA and around 70-80% students get placed every year, students who have no backlogs and have 7.5CGPA and above in all sems are eligible for placements.Top companies like Accenture, Deloitte, Infosys, IBM, TCS etc visit REVA to provide jobs in our respective domains which is mainly Accounting & Mgt
Fees and Financial Aid
As in when I joined REVA the fee for 1st year and 2nd year was 1,25,000 & for 3rd year it is 1,75,000. But there is something called REVA CET which is common enterance test conducted before college starts, if you take it up and manage to get a good merit rank in it you will get a 25000 discount on fees for all 3 years. Apart from annual fee you have to pay 10000 as university fee for all 3 years which is compulsory. which makes your fee 1,10,000 for 1st and 2nd year where as 1,60,000 for 3rd year. There is special discount based on any caste. But there might be special discounts for sports quota not really sure how much discount.
Campus Life
There is always one or the other event taking place in REVA every branch conduct their own departmental fests whereas the main fest of reva the REVOTSAVA usually takes place during month of april. Apart from it every other festival is also celebrated in REVA gandly. REVA has a huge library with abundant resources which any student can easily access with their ID cards they can also borrow the boojs for some time. Classrooms are well equipped with tech like smart screens, projectors, podiums, and individual charging station in a each table. sports and extra curriculars are very prominent here in sports we have all the basic ones and also special ones like archery, fencing, kick boxing etc, REVA also has a NSS unit and the '39 KAR BN NCC Unit' which help students build leadership skills. Apart from these REVA also has various Music, Dance and Drama clubs some run by university and others by students themselves, which provide students a stage to explore & exell in their passion.
Admission
My first preference of college was actually St.Joseph University, but delayed on applying for admissions so by the time i checked on it, applications were closed, technically i didnt get rejected because i couldnt apply at all. So i wanted to join private universities only because they provide better placements and campus life, so i had to go with the 2nd college on my list which is REVA University i went through their course curriculum and fee on their website and submitted my details for application with application fee, after few weeks i got a mail for enterance test REVA CET which is common for all branches, if you get a merit in it you will get fee discount, After REVA CET results came me n my dad went for admission, they will brief us about different specializations options once we select one they will take a copy of our 10th & 12th marks card(>60%), and you have to pay half of the annual fee for admission and they will hand you the admission letter and that's it.
Faculty
There are around 600 students in commerce as of now including students from all years and around 45 faculty, somehow they have managed to distribute these faculties among us.There are few gem of a faculties like Sarvanan sir, Vijesh Sir,Shreekritha mam, Naresh Babu sir(HOD) they are really skilled, talented and have a passion for teaching whith great subject knowledge and their friendliness with students is what makes them standout. But there are few shit faculties like G.Narayan.Swamy he dosent have any subject knowledge, no skills at all, shit communication and a lot of arrogance. Well about exams initially i found it a bit difficult because it was new system of exams for me, but as time passes i got used to it and actually it is pretty easy if u score well in internals but still 10% of students manage to have backlogs. The course curriculum is actually very relavent to present day job reqirements in our domain.
