Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum covers fundamental subjects like Data Structures, Algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming, Database Management Systems, and Computer Networks, which form the backbone of computer engineering. While the course covers core areas well, more emphasis on industry tools and technologies like DevOps, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and modern programming languages could benefit students.
Internships Opportunities
Several well-known companies offer internships to NHITM students, mainly focusing on IT, software development, and technical consulting roles. Some of the companies that frequently recruit interns include tcs , Infosys and wipro And the stipend offered is around 10,000 to 15,000 per month depending on the project
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements starting from the 7th semester Companies begin visiting the campus in the 3rd year to interact with students through pre-placement talks and technical tests Around ?7-8 lakhs per annum, which is typically offered by companies like TCS and Infosys for high-performing candidates in technical roles is the highest package
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid 18000 for first year and 3000 for second year as I'm a sc category student The fees for open category students aree 96000 and 60000 for obc students The amount of scholarship is 76000 which was directly received by the college from the government and some amount is credited in my bank account which depends from student to student I got 20000 from which 18000 was given back to the college The development fees is 7840 and tution fees is 68160
Campus Life
The annual fest which takes places in January is called Kshitijam and the technical fest whoch takes place in march is called Navpravartan the college lacks smart classrooms or advanced technological infrastructure that some other institutes offer, making it less conducive for modern, interactive teaching methods The library at NHITM is well-equipped with a decent collection of textbooks, reference books, journals, and e-resources. However, compared to larger institutions, the variety of international journals is somewhat limited
Admission
I chose NHITM because it aligned well with my academic goals, offered a cost-effective education, and allowed me to stay close to home. While colleges like SPIT and Somaiya offer better placements and infrastructure, NHITM is a good balance of quality education at an affordable cost, with moderate competition for placements. And it was the only college that I got listed on through MHCET as I got 83 percentile and didn't met the cut off for other colleges
Faculty
There are total 6 exams in an academic year out of which 2 are main semester exams and each semester contains 2 internal assessment exams And the overall experience is also good of thee college and staff
Interview Experience
The admission process generally involved multiple stages to assess both academic ability and overall personality: Application Form Based on previous academic records (Class 12 / undergraduate marks) Some programs also considered entrance exam scores Written Test / Entrance Exam Shortlisted candidates were invited for a test Test focused on aptitude, subject knowledge, and basic reasoning
