Likes

The structure of college is quite excellent with many facilities
Teachers are cooperative and understanding
Many facilities like computer library playground and canteen are available

Dislikes

The placement is not upto mark like average package is less
Sometimes the equipment does not work properly
Attendance is very compulsory upto 75% so there is very much fine

Bca ( Bachelor of Computer application) is IT sector cource .. which provides alot of technical skills . Many programing language are there to learn java ,c++ , phython and etc . More jobs options are there in it . Teachers should be more practical in teaching than theory. We have 1 mst and then final per semester.

The students who have no backlogs in any subject and semester can sit for placement. Many companies will visit example Deloitte, Accenture, ici bank etc Highest average package will be 5lakh 60% students gets placement My plan after degree in joing IT company.

I have not applied for other colleges ..my first preference was GGDSD college itself for being best college in chandigarh. And i got admission in first counselling as my percentage was good along with UT kota and maths .

Bca course has 4 main subjects in each semester with two practical lab subjects . It is important to pass all exams to get degree on an average students fail to clear in one attempt Faculty students ratio is 4:1 I like various faculty because of their nature and way for handling our problems

1. After 6 semesters the students become eligible for there college placements 2.The companies that visited my college are google microsoft and various other large tech companies and the largest offer made to our students were 1 crore ctc 3. The highest package was 1 crore ctc in our college and average package is that of 15 lpa in our college 4.There are 50-60% of students that get placements from our college 5.My plans after getting the degree is to get a good placement offer if not then getting into an multinational firm

GGDSD COLLEGE FROM STUDENTS PERSEPECTIVE

Placement Experience:

Placement cell of out college is quite good. Placemenr drive generally start at the beginning of 5th semsterbof every 3 year course. Companies like DELL, HDFC , ICICI BANK, ACCENTURE, DELLIOTE and many more came to provide employement. Highest package after UG is 10 lakhs offered by company to our college student.

Course Curriculum Overview:

BCA in itself is not a very good course that will gurantee your placement in a good company with high package, Its relevance is high only beacuse its easy to complete and get the degree. For good packages you have to do MCA or work harder on your skill to get a good job. BCA helps in building base of your coding career, it offers a good grasp of C/CPP, Java and DataStructure.

Sggs is alright, if you dont expect much

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because i was interested in computers and didn't wanted to do arts, and i was underqualified for other streams. Every class has about 45 students, the number vary but not much. The faculty and teachers are helpful. There maybe some slacking by both sides here and there but its alright. The teaching mathod varies. If you know what youre doing the exams are not that hard to pass.

I applied to PGGC- 11 college , which is also in chandigarh, i got admission there too, but i chose this college because its more better in education as compared to the other . And SD college is regarded as one of the best colleges in chandigarh. You can apply for BA directly using the college's website , but for centralised courses you'll have to fill the official govt form. The cut off for B.Com students is more than 100% and for BCA is more than 80%....Read More

I applied for 4 colleges from which one is my present college 2 is DAV college 3 is khalsa college and 4 is Panjab university. My 1 preference was to get admission in panjab university but I couldn't get and my secind prefrence was SD college and i got admission here . I was also getting admission in DAV and khalsa college too but i chose SD over them because it is better than them in almost every aspect . Elgibility was easy as people for any background rather say commerce , arts , non medical or medical . College doesnt have any entrance exam for admission.Students are admitted through centralized admission under DHE chandigarh. Punjab university offers admission to those students those have good grades in class 12th.
