Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The curriculum seems very up to date. I'm quite interested in physical sciences hence i chose this course. The course is mainly theoretical, I'm not so aware of it's application in real life. How ever the things we study are interesting and I'd like to know more about those in the upcoming years. For a career path in physics, this course is the base. Therefore I'm fully invested in the curriculum. The semester system is a bit hectic. As we get vey less time to complete the syllabus. Before even we get into the syllabus the sessional exam is around the corner. Then after a month the finals. We get less time to complete the practicals and study for the exams. But with a little bit of hard work, it is possible to pass the exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

This is a four year course, it's divided into 8 semesters. Every semester I have to pay the admission fees that is different every semester. As the course includes practicals and lab experiments hence i have to pay the lab fees as well. This way, I had to pay almost 3000rs on my frist semester, 3000rs in the second semester and 4000rs in the 3rd semester. It'll be increased in the upcoming semesters. All the other fees, including registration, development fees are included in the main admission fees. Moreover there is a fee waiver policy, where students from poor background, who cannot afford the admission fees are able to take admission without money. There were a lot of scholarships, but has a fixed yearly income amount of parents earning, and only students who's parents earning is below that amount are eligible to apply for it. Also there's a fixed percentage to apply for that.

Campus Life

2.5

There are many festivals in the college. Mainly, Students Freshers party, Fairwell party, Teacher's day celebration, Bihu celebration (local festival), College week etc. Freshers are typically held in August, September. Fairwell on April, bihu also april, college week January or February. The library has a lot of important books. I almost got all the books i needed for my first two semesters in the library. The facilities in the classrooms are not so bad. We have projectors for cisual classes, we have apparatus. But availability of apparatus is poor. There's a whole week for sports celebrations in college. A lot of games are held during that week. Other than that there is not so active sports team in the college. However the college hostels have some energetic playing groups. I'm not so interested in the The student union. I do not like the election system. However a storng group of students manage all the festivals and arrangements in the college. They metion students issues

Admission

I applied for the following colleges- 1.Pandu college, guwahati, 2.B Baruah college, Guwahati 3. DKD college, dergaon I got a confirmed admission in the DKD college, dergaon. But i chose this college over DKD college as I've heard about the good faculties of my department in my college. Also the other college was not so convenient for me. Then i did not get a seat in one of the colleges because the cutoff was high and I didn't have enough percentage. The admission process in my college is not so hard. We applied for it with the Samarth portel. Then, i submitted my marksheets and other important documents, i got the seat and paid the admission fees. The eligibility in my college is merit based. Also our college is now under CUET, student can apply for a course in our college through CUET exam.

Faculty

3.5

The faculties are good. The faculty to student ratio in my department is 7:30. They are quite approachable and friendly. I personally like Dr Krishna Kingkar pathak sir, he's very friendly, interesting and approachable. I like other faculties as well. But some of them are intelligent but not so good as a teacher, as they are unable to transfer their knowledge to the students. There are 2 exams in one semester, which are the sessional exam and the final semester exam. Sessionals are not so hard, finals are a bit tougher. But if we study properly it is not so hard to pass.

Other Applied Colleges

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was a major factor that influenced my decision to choose this course, as it is well-structured and offers a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. The syllabus covers essential concepts in a systematic manner, starting from the basics and gradually advancing to more complex topics. The inclusion of practical sessions, assignments, and project work made the course appear relevant and aligned with current academic and professional requirements. This thoughtful design assured me that the course would help in developing analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and subject clarity, which are important for both academic growth and career development.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choosed the course because I dont have so much money to study for btech and all and also I didn't prepare for jee or neet so, the next thing come is mind is bsc that is in botany or zoology as I liked bio more than any other subjects. Yaa by reading botany I can know many things about plant and trees. The improvement that they can do is release a book according to the syllabus by the university and also add few more new teachers such that student can be friendly with them and ask their doubt . For me I think exam timing should be done... Like one before durga puja and one around December . And the difficulty level should be easy .

Course Curriculum Overview:

Areas for improvement: more industry collaborations, guest lectures, and hands-on projects. Some subjects feel outdated and could be updated. Teaching methods could incorporate more interactive sessions and case studies. Exams are held semester-wise, with a mix of easy and challenging questions. Difficulty level is manageable with consistent effort. Frequency is okay, but sometimes feels rushed. Overall, the curriculum provides a solid foundation, but could benefit from more flexibility and modernization to better prepare students for the industry.
