Course Curriculum Overview

See my dream was to study in this field as biology was my favourite from my school days so I decided to choose this field...Teaching methods was good but the practicals needs to get improved as there was less amount of equipments in lab ...once in a year there was a exam and that was final exam so there was too much pressure to qualify and timing was 4 hours for honours paper and three hours for pass papers

Fees and Financial Aid

Hi I m chandrima let me tell u about the fees structure which I paid in my time was 2000 to 3000 yearly as it was a government college so the fees structure was minimal.Tution fees was around 200,caution fees was 100,lab fees was 600,festival fees was 50,and there was no charges for reservation categories. As I belong from non reserved category so this were the minimal fees which I used to pay bt the friends of mine who were reserved category they has to pay 100 to 200 in a year ar my time talking about 2k16...Don't have any idea about scholarships aids but definitely have this facilities in government colleges also for the meritorious and privileged students also...Ranaghat college is one of the best college in nadia district because it has got excellent faculties and atmosphere to build your career..Students from different medium are given privilege to shine up their future so that they grow up their career smoothly without any obstacles.

Campus Life

See our college used to celebrate every festivals in a very unique way..college fest, reunion the celebs used to visit and we used to enjoy alot .. library was quite listed with limited editions of books ...we used to get help from our teachers as well as Internet so for that reason for me library was not so helpful.as it's a government college at that time technology was okk okk type...sports used to take place in Jan I didn't participated so I don't have any knowledge about it..

Admission

Honestly I choose this college over other colleges because it was close to my house and the ambience I loved alot...My college is too much strict in studies rather than other colleges...I applied to other colleges also but they were far away from my house so that's the reason I rejected...I want to give my time in studies so for that reason I choose the nearer one...The admission process was too simple at that time ...it was according to merit..the merit list appears and according to that you will be selected...the cuts off at that time went around 80 to 85....My overall experience was good.

Honestly the relationship between us and our teachers was too friendly...They used to help us alot....They just go out of the blue and do everything for their students so that every students get right education for their bright future. As I did graduation in zoology honours so from my zoology department all of the faculties was absolutely stunning.. Personally my fav was our respectable HOD Mr Amlan Kumar Mitra n he is the king in zoology..Personally I dislike the physiology teacher because he was rough to all the students and always force us to take private tuitions from him...otherwise he used to deduct our practical marks and used to touch us in bad way.In our time there were no semesters direct final exam were taken.

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

To look into this, St. Xavier's College has a Placement Cell run by Placements officer Mr. Niladri Sinha under whose guidance, various companies visit the college regularly looking for capable young minds to take under their wing and help provide them with the necessary exposure and experience so that they can combat any obstacles that they face.

The college offers good placements for economis. Students in their final year are eligible for campus placements and there is a cell dedicated to placements. Many students do not opt for placements and go for higher studies but many students who opt for it, get placed with decent packages. Many well-known companies visit the campus as well. I wish to explore my options after completing the degree as of now.
