- There is a placement program in which we have to attend a 2 hoir class once every week to develop our skills to get the best placement, that is something I really like about the college.
- We have a weekly class lf foreign language and it's free of cost, we can either learn German or french.
Dislikes
- We don't get a proper notification regarding the fee submission, it's something which I reported to the college too.
- The college doesn't provide any internship program. I'm in 2nd year and it haven't received one yet. All they give is some sponsored fake looking and paid internships
Course Curriculum Overview
BBA is a very general course but I think Ilead takes it seriously and does thier work good. They give us a lot of extra lessons for us to face the real world. We have extra classes for placements and foreign languages and well as we have soft skill classes too. Which helps us to hone our skills to a whole different level. I think the exams which are conducted are not very difficult and are completely concept-based, anyone with a good concept of the subject can clear the exams with ease.
Internships Opportunities
The internship program in Ilead is average. I'm in 2nd year and I'm yet to receive any internships. All we get in the groups are sponsored-looking paid internships which also look very fake, the paid internships are from 1000-4000rs. Which is a lot for a student.
Placement Experience
The college does provide us placements and I have heard from the seniors that we shouldn't completely rely on the placements. The average placement is about 3,50,000 per annum. And the highest package for BBA was 15lpa secured by a student. The college separates the students who really want the placement from the ones who don't want it. And then focus on the ones who need placement to work on them and on their skills. The college says they provide 100% placement assistance.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
The fees I'm paying in BBA (for 3 years) are 2,95,000. I'm in the evening batch, but for the same course, the morning batch is paying around 4,15,000. When I joined the college I did heard about a scholarship program that helps students with good marks like 80%+ to get a scholarship to deduct some of the fee amount. And the fee for BBA this year has increased a lot. The registration fee I paid was 50,000 and it was included in the total fee.
Campus Life
Managedia is an event that is held quite often and it's a huge huge event. Many big companies join the event as sponsors and a lot of other colleges from Kolkata come too. When it comes to books, any Ilead student can clearly say just how many books we have. We literally have walls made up of books all over the college. And they provide a huge variety of books. We have books even in the canteen and it is said that the college has more than 1,00,000 books. The college is full ac and every class has a projector for the students to learn efficiently. We also have quotes and motivational lines written all over. So wherever we see it, we get motivated. We have many social clubs which are run by the students. Like the event club, cultural club, sports club and each one of them are the top tiers in completing thier work. We also have a huge and protected turf on which we can play games like cricket, basketball, etc. One thing I miss here is a volleyball ground.
Admission
I applied for 3 colleges in Kolkata. They were Ilead College, Brainware College, and Bhawanipur College. I got accepted by all of them but the reason for choosing Ilead was that:- Bhawanipur College doesn't give importance to studying and classes and attendance is not mandatory. Bhawanipur took too long to accept my admission. Brainware University did not do as well as Ilead. Ilead took direct admission and I loved the college in a single sight. I wanted to emphasize studying more and Ilead does that perfectly.
Faculty
The exam structure is something like we have to give CAs (central assessment) before sitting for the semester exams. 2 of the CAs are project-based and the other 2 are written. The overall exam structure is good but I've seen the majority of my class getting a backlog in the semester exams. And one guy gave his backlog paper for a review and received the same result after the review. Some faculty members I really like are Madhumita's mam and Kundu sir. They are really great teachers and have a vast knowledge of their subjects. I don't like Piyali's ma'am at all because she as a class teacher creates a "school-like" environment in the college. She yells at the students for small things and she does parents call too. I think the students of college need a little more freedom.
