What Students Say
Likes
- the campus is big and infrastructure is great, with multiple labs and air conditioned classrooms, the sports faculty is very supportive and the college helps people who travel for competitions
- the majority faculty teaches good and at a simple level and the best part is they provide notes for each and every lecture they give.
- if you want to study then you can score pretty good marks as the midsems are really easy, having maximum questions from the pre given assignments.
Dislikes
- I personally don't like the crowd here, as this college takes admission of any guy having 50%+ marks in 12th and there is very less competition
- attendance criteria is extremely strict as if you even have 74.5% attendance you'll be detained and the detention fees is 2000₹ per credit
- internship opportunities are not provided through college but students are forced to complete a summer internship before the 3rd semester
Course Curriculum Overview
for first year the whole engineering department has the same syllabus which is necessary for the basics of engineering, from second year onwards we get to know the subjects of the department and the subjects and curriculum all are very relevant to the program, even some subjects of specialization are included in the second year like Maths for Data Science. industry related studies are pretty less but they arrange many seminars every month where speakers come to talk about the industry.
Placement Experience
people are eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester, companies like Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, TCS, Wipro etc have visited the college and the average package of CSE is 8.5 LPA which is decent for a private college. Also the highest package is 60 LPA for last year, which is pretty good. almost 100% of students are placed here, and there is also a lot of startup culture, the college also provides a funding of 2.5 lacs if they like your idea.
Fees and Financial Aid
the year wise fees of my course as I have a specialization is 275000, but I have a scholarship of 40000 due to my jee mains rank. there is also concession if you apply for BPL quota and submit required documents.you can get scholarships through the entrance exam of itself(MRNAT), Jee rank, board marks and CUET score. but to maintain the scholarship you need to have 7.5+ cgpa and 85%+ attendance. the fees if we look at is pretty decent considering it to be a private college. and the roi is also good enough giving an average package of 8.5LPA for CSE
Campus Life
there are a lot of societies where you can join by giving auditions, and events are held every other week so you can participate in them if you wish to do performing arts. there is only 1 fest(concert) every year during september-october, this year they'll be calling KR$NA/KING/Talwinder/Guru Randhawa. every classroom has projectors and air conditioning and everything is clean and well maintained. we have multiple basketball courts, football fields, cricket field, badminton court, tt table, shooting range, pool table and an open gym.
Hostel Facilities
2 Seater rooms are pretty good and well convenient but the 4 Seater rooms are not upto the mark. the price of 2 Seater AC room is 218500 per year but of the 4 Seater AC is 175000. laundry services are good here but I'll say the total hostel fees is a bit high and also it increases every year. mess food is really a 'mess', there is zero variety in food and maximum times you'll feel like ordering from somewhere. also the hostel gates close at 9:30 so you can't order anything from outside then.
Admission
I didn't specifically apply for any other colleges as I had fixed to come to this college because of its sports culture and it's availability of a shooting range. I am a professional rifle shooter and am wanting to pursue that as a career thus seeing this college having the specialization of Data Science I wanted and pretty decent fees and ROI, I applied for it. my jee mains percentile was 93, I was getting NITs in the north east but I didn't opt them because then I wouldn't be able to pursue my sport. There is an aptitude admission test MRNAT, then people are selected for an online PI and GD where we had to participate and then they contacted through mail.
Faculty
the faculty to student ratio is pretty good, there are a lot of qualified individuals available for teaching a subject. they are also very helpful if you miss the classes for valid reasons they actually help you by re explaining a topic and helping with notes. the best faculties can be named as Rajeev sir(chemistry in 1st year), Priyanka ma'am(physics in 1st year), Ramesh sir(C programming in 1st year), Anisha ma'am(DSA in 2nd year), Neha ma'am(Electrical in 1st year). Some faculties of the mechanical department are pretty rude without any reason and I didn't like their behaviour throughout the first year. there are a lot of exams, 2 midsems of 30 marks each and then an endsem of 100 marks. scoring in the midsems is very easy but endsems have moderate difficulty, there are a lot of students failing in subjects but that is not the fault of the college, they just do not study.
Interview Experience
yes I faced a group discussion and personal interview before my admission, the topic they had given us was the impact of online education on students, I spoke on the positive aspects of it. there is a basic criteria of 50% in 12th/JEE Mains for admission, it's not at all tough to get an admission. i prepared some basic gd topics and what to say for introduction when they take the interview and it was pretty smooth.
