Remarks

NFET provides us the base to develop as a better professional. it gives us the scope of holistic developments besides providing jobs with a different organization, the soft skill development sessions attended at NFET goes a long way in polishing our skills and making us complete as a professional.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is based on ‘outcome-based learning’ and is oriented towards industry requirements. This makes us ready for industry and through project work gives us practical exposure into the industry workings. The exam structure explores the requirement of the industries and also gives us an in-depth understanding of the requirement in the industry

Placement Experience

4.5

Students of NFET are placed across the diverse industry from manufacturing to technology to IT-based services. Geographically students are placed across the length and breadth of the country as well as in major metro cities also. The same trend is also observed in case of internship wherein students have been sent for industrial training in blue-chip companies.

College Events

4.5

We have several events happening throughout the year wherein we get a chance to meet industry stalwarts as well as seniors academicians from reputed engineering and technology colleges of the country. This one in the form of seminars and conferences wherein faculties also present scientific papers which are review. Apart from this, there are many cultural programs which are organized by NFET wherein we get a chance to meet the members of our alumni and get a hands on experience about industries also.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure of college in quite reasonable and it is inclusive of the lab works and expenses for internship as well as project works. Approximate the course fee for the first year in INR 60,000 which includes the above-mentioned facilities as well as college tuition fees and library charges. The library and the labs are quite adequate to meet the requirements of our study and hence no extra expenses are incurred by students outside these, in this regard.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides scholarship to meritorious students on the basis of their percentage of marks secured in the last major examination. ‘Asha Jyoti’ is one such scholarship which is provided by the college in this regard. As regards to the educational loan, the college has tied up with certain banks who provide those educational loans after fulfilling certain basic criteria, with minimum documentation on a very prompt basis.

Campus Life

4.5

Science Model competition - students are made to appear for a competition with science models developed by them. Students are then judged according to the models and are awarded. Science Model Exhibition - the various science models which are good and awarded are displayed to encourage other students to do the same. Students from other colleges are also made to attend the events. Tech Fest - Festival of technical events like Robotics, Circuit Design, Gaming, Coding, Debugging. Cultural Fest, ...Campus life comprises of gaming including football, cricket, basketball, volleyball. Every year, we have a national sports championship. Campus life also includes extracurricular activities under Tech Fest, Cultural Fest. Dance Club, Music Club, etc are very active. Robotics is one of the strongest over here. Faculty members are good and friendly. I am also a Research Associate, and working in different field of research pertaining to the requirement of the modern day and society.

Placement Experience:

The senario of placement in all of the private colleges of West Bengal are more or less the same. Majority of the students are placed in Service Based Companies like TCS, Wirpo, Infosys, HCL, Accenture, Cognizent, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, etc. These companies offer anywhere from 3.6 to 6 lpa packages. Only a handful of Product based companies come in these private colleges and cherry pick 2-3 student per college only. This is the reality of all the private colleges, not just our college. If you want to crack a high paying job, you will have to do it off campus. The students are eligible for internships from the 6th semester itself. The college does try to provide internship to students but only a few students end up getting the internships and most students need to find internships on their own. Some companies which came in 24-25 session which offered an internship and PPO are Amazon, SAP Labs, Accenture, etc. For a detailed placement stat, go to our college's website and look for training and placement stats. The college is honest in putting these stats. The stats are mostly reliable. The highest off campus placement in 24-25 session was by Snehadeep De, who secured a SDE role in Amazon with 47 lpa CTC. This was off campus so the college had no role to play here. The highest on campus placement was by two students in the company Juspay. They were offered the SDE role for 27 lpa CTC. The average placement of all the CS branches will be around 5-6 lpa. And approximately around 60-65% of the students get placed. This is the ground reality. And its the same in all of the WB private colleges. If you want to keep a backup option in case you don't want to get a 3.6 lpa job then start preparing for GATE, CAT or Civil Services from your second year. Its always preferred to have a backup option cause you can't trust a private college for providing you jobs.

College placements are pretty decent. For instance, this year companies like Biskfarm and TopTech TMT bars offered annual packages of 3.0 LPA. The highest package offered was 12 LPA. I can provide no re information about college placement since I am in the first year myself but I will surely update my review after I collect more information on it.
