Remarks

I think, its the discipline which you gain when you come to Chitkara. The timings are 9-5, you wear uniforms, you enjoy but everything is in limits and academic and your grade is given a lot of importance.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is good. For Freshman year, you get to study a lot of theory whereas, for sophomore and final year, everything is practical. You get a chance to do a lot of assignments which is a great thing to get the perfect exposure to equipment and whatever you have learnt.

Placement Experience

4.5

We don't have a placement cell but we do get a lot of opportunities. You will always get emails about job openings and also a guaranteed internship which is part of your last semester. It's up to your hard work to convert that internship into a job.

College Events

4.5

We celebrate each and every festivals and so that means fewer holidays. But, we do have events in which you could participate and show your talent. Not only this, but we also have academic weeks like Global week where faculty from abroad comes and teaches.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't. There is no scholarship but you take loans from IndusInd bank if needed. The university helps with that.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is amazing, especially if you're in the hostel. The infrastructure and the activities offered after the classes are great as well. You have a huge library open after college hours, a sports complex, gym as well as a mechanical lab. You can also join the EPIC club that is exclusively for hostelers. They do a lot of fun parties, events and contests.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, we do have an Alumni network, CAN (Chitkara Alumni Network). They are extensively connected and a lot of times the alumni comes for guest lectures.

Admission

It's quite simple, to be honest. You visit the website, download the brochure, have a look and find the nearest bookstore where you can buy out the college application form. You fill the form and on the basis of your marks and number of seats they call you for a personal interview which happens in Chandigarh.

Faculty

4.5

They are great. All of them have industry experience so it's easy to generate a practical approach to the subject. In fact, the Dean of our College himself is a Doordarshan news anchor as well as a newsreader for AIR. We do have to visit faculty from other departments as well from abroad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I study Psychology, Computer Science and Elective English. I love everything about Psychology. The whole course structureis perfect, and they focus on practicality as well. What I don't like about Computer Science is the lack of practical experience. Exams are fairly easy and are conducted twice per semester. Mid Semester exams are short and the duration is one week. And the finals can go for as long as one and a half month.

Course Curriculum Overview:

If you are trying to familiarize yourself with college academics, you will need to learn how college exams are different from high school exams well before you enroll in your first semester of classes. While both college and high school classes are designed to prepare students to become contributing members of society, the environment and the approach are entirely different. You must realize that high school is designed to prepare you for college, but you are considered an adult once you walk the line and apply for college admission. There will be no hand-holding, no parent intervention, more lenient attendance policies, more independent study time, and less one-on-one attention.
