Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course as I am interested in the media field. After comparing the universities in the north side I calculated that Chitkara School of Mass Communication (CSMC) is the better option. The best thing about the CSMC is the student-faculty relationship, it's not like the crowded system every class has a good strength of students so it's easy to develop understanding between faculty and students. Faculty has field experience time and is adequately managed in the department with the best teaching techniques alongside practical classes. CSMC has a studio set up for radio and Television and editing labs with any time excess for the children. Exams, Assignments everything was o, and the difficulty level of the exams waterpot too tough to crack.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Internships in media vary a little more than in other fields, Some media organizations in content writing offer stipends whereas mainstream media channels offer an unpaid internships. But the work experience and certifications are a sure shot. Organizations like zee tv, news18, BigFm, Radio Mirchi, India News, Newsx, and many more renowned companies provide internships.CSMC helps them to tie up. CSMC asks about the preferences of students and then helps them to give a similar field of internship. Job profiles vary in each media field editor, videographer, content writer, programming intern in radio, producer, and many more.

Placement Experience

3.5

After the 5th sem in graduation, students are eligible for campus placements. Companies visited in csmc were news18 group, zee tv, and new laundry made approx 20 internships and a few jobs within the class. In Mass Communication Highest package goes along with the skill rate of the students. Approx 99% of students get placed. My plan after getting the UG degree is to proceed with a master's.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee Hike is not too much, 60000 per semester was the fee in 2018 and now in 2023, it's 62000. There aren't scholarship programs but foreign exchange programs where students get the chance to learn one sem at any foreign university or get internship experience their like Disney World.

Campus Life

5

Life at the Chitkara Campus is a lifetime experience, Every Dept has its own fest and events. Chitkara University has major fests too like angrez, Lit fest, Dj nights, festive celebrations, and other celebrations like Republic day, Halloween week, etc conducted in mid-year. Cultural clubs are there for Drama, Dance, Singing, Bhangra, Literature, Artwork, Photography, and Modelling. Big library for every student. Classrooms are fully furnished and along with proper ventilation and AC. For Sports huge sanatorium is made with Swimming Pool, Basketball Court, Volley Ball court, Tennis court, Skating ring, GYM, Zumba room, Badminton court, and Table Tennis. Many social groups are run by students even Chitkara encourages the students to startups and provides funds for the best ideas and has a different platform for them.

Hostel Facilities

4

1 -Hostels are good. Hostel Fee varies with no. of students in it for example- 1 seater, 2 seaters, 3 seaters, 4 seaters 5 seater is the last along with the fan and coolers. A laundry facility is also there., it is compulsory as Chitkara uni has a uniform. Mess is optional. 2 -Hostel food is good and healthy to eat, even the hostel warden is given the same food. The menu is shuffled weekly and different meals are there each day - 3-time meals ( Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) 3 -The registration process for a hostel is simple and done during the time of admission(room allotment too), Security fee is paid at the start of your course and refunded when you permanently leave the hostel. The hostel is affordable ( e.g.- 3 seater: 58000). 4-Nearby locality to find PG is Rajpura and Banur (30 -20 min away). Zirakpur is also good for rooms and Pg but a little far( 40 min away) Transportation is available (auto, bus).

Admission

12th pass with a 60% in the field through any eligible and registered is the criteria for this course, On the day of admission documentation will be done, and a small interview that why the students want to pursue this course. The application form is available online along with a brochure. Reservation benefits. are there for Punjab, HP domicile, and Reserved category. I believe the admission system is perfect and direct for any intermediate.

Placement Experience:

LPU has a good campus placement policy in which the students become engrossed from the seventh semester. Many of the biggest IT organizations such as Amazon, Cognizant, Capgemini and thousands of other offers are made during the visits. The maximum salary offered has been 3 crore [ctc] per annum and is averaging around 6-7 lakh per annum. It is notable that 90% of students get placements depending on the program that they take or choose to study.
