Department of Optometry and Vision Science provides us the base to develop as a better professional. It gives us the scope of holistic developments besides getting jobs at different hospitals. The soft skill developments here at the Department of Optometry and Vision Science goes a long way in polishing our skills and making us complete as a professional.

The course curriculum is based on “ outcome-based learning” and is oriented towards eye-care oriented service facilities. This makes us ready for any challenges at hospitals, eye-care centers and through project work gives us a practical exposure to current research and other diagnostic procedures. *The exam structure exposes us into making a concrete theoretical knowledge also gives us an in-depth understanding of every subject.

Students of the Department of Optometry and Vision Science have placed approx diverse hospitals and also in many Contact Lens and Spectacle industry through the length and breadth of India.

We have several events happening throughout the year wherein we get a chance to meet Optometry stalwarts as well as seniors academicians from reputed Optometry Colleges, hospitals and other eye-care areas of the country.

The fee structure of college in quite reasonable and it is inclusive of the lab works and expenses for internship as well as project works. Approximate the course fee for the first year in INR 1,40,000 which includes the observed facilities as well as college tuition fees and library charges. The library and the labs are quiet adjudicate to meet the requirements of our study and hence no extra expenses are incurred in this regard.

The college provides scholarship to meritorious students on their percentage of marks secured in the last major examination. Asha Jyoti is one such scholar which is provided by the college in this regard. As regards to the educational loan, the college has tie-up which certain banks who provide those educational loans after fulfilling certain basic criteria, which minimum documentation on a very prompt basis.

The Department of Optometry provides us the scope to meet our alumni a couple of time during the academic year. This provides us a platform to interact and build a network which on a later stage helps us in better job placements. The senior students are quite helpful and are willing to provide employment scope for the junior students, as some of them have their own clinic or hospitals.

After filling up the application form, shortlisted candidates were called by the college for a 'Personal Interview'(PI). The PI consisted of questions varying from. Academic Performance at the 10th standard exam as well as 10+2 final exam, to such questions that probed into the reason for selecting of Optometry as a field of study.

The faculty of our college are helpful and cooperative besides, they provide us in-depth understanding of every subject by assigning practicals, project works which ultimately makes us ready for patient care. The faculty also helps us in personal development and grooms into being skillful which helps us in cracking job interviews.
