Remarks
College management is exactly as what you'd expect from a government college. The journey on the whole was a decent one. It certainly could have been better. Having said that, eventually it all depends on the person how much would he like to and he could
Entrance Preview
AIEEE, AIR 9539 It ranked among top 4-5 NITs at that time. But the factor which played the biggest part was that I was a jaipurite.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum was decently spread. You have a lot of electives to choose from to go along with your core subjects. One can choose courses from different engineering streams or from the same stream if he wants to excel in it. The best part was the availability of humanities subjects as electives.
Internships Opportunities
The college doesn't really provide a helping hand in getting summer interns. One has to go look for internship opportunities himself. Consequently, people rarely got stipend. Some of the companies which visited the campus for final placements did take some interns along but these opportunities were few and far between.
Placement Experience
Placements in our placement season wasn't that great but that for also due to the prevalent market scenario. I've heard that in the subsequent year, after the change of govt., placements went quite well with both startups and traditional companies visiting the college. The packages offered are in lines with those offered at IITs. The only difference being in the no. of companies which visit any IIT campus and the ones which visit ours. Moreover we don't get many finance/banking companies visiting our campus. Companies like fb, Microsoft, adobe, lnt, bajaj, fiat etc do visit the campus.
College Events
Different kind of events are conducted in our campus. Tech fest, cult fest, techno-cult fest, Sports fest, advani memorial basketball tournament (biggest of its kind in India) etc. These events are reasonably fine but obviously nowhere near what top b schools or IITs organise. Students mostly from colleges in Rajasthan attend the festivals with some contribution from colleges from other states.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure was a pretty feasible one. We had to pay fee every semester the break up of which was as follows: Odd semester: 35k approx, even semester: 25k approxWhich would bring the total fee to around 2.4 lacs which is comparatively lesser than a similar ranked private college in jaipur (lnmiit) wherein my friends splurged around 80k per semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
I didn't avail any scholarship but college does provide scholarships to financially weaker classes and students who excel in studies. People who qualify with other govt provisions can also avail fee waivers as its a govt institution.
Campus Life
Gender ratios aren't very good. In our class, among a batch of 90 there were just 9 girls. In general, you'll have the gender ratio of what you normally expect in an engineering institute. You don't need a reason to celebrate or party in any engineering institute! You can have one as and when you want and same was the case here. It's a pretty tolerant institute with no sort of bias towards or against any community or group. Sports, extracurriculars, competitions keep on going throughout the year. It honestly depends on you on how participative you'd like to be. There are ample opportunities to learn and grow. The college has a decent infrastructure in place for all sorts of activities.
Hostel Facilities
I was a day scholar so can't give a detailed review about this but I will still try my best. There are adequate no of hostels to accommodate students in need of accommodation. All kinds of hostel rooms are available (single, twin sharing, triple sharing)
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network keeps organizing get together and events both inside and outside of college. They do help with donations whenever necessary. Alumni can also at times help a current student with finding a job or an internship. One thing I feel we missed out on was a decent support provided to us by our seniors. There isn't as such a culture which the seniors pass on to their juniors in regards with helping them with their careers or any other considerate subject. I can blame our seniors but we're equally at blame as we too didn't foster that type of environment.
Exam Structure
Lab sessions are evenly distributed in the time table. Some faculty used to take periodic quizzes. The college follows semester type of system with 2 mid terms and 1 end sem distributed across a semester. Some of the days were hectic but mostly it was pre
Faculty
Being a civil engineering graduate, I can confidently say that most of my faculty were a class apart and best in their subject. But like every academic institution, we had our share of disappointments as well.
