What Students Say?
Likes
- The amount of support we get from the faculties and senior for doing projects is admirable.
- The college has a very good platform called 'VJ HUB' for pitching startup related ideas.
Dislikes
- The campus length is long, but the width is less. This makes you walk a lot of distance everyday.
- The security is too high which is quite irritating sometimes.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is very interesting and easy (for those who study). The syllabus and course is revised regularly according to the student's feedback. We have a special aspect of 'WIT & WIL'. WIT stands for 'What I Learn' which is for students. WIL stands for 'What I Teach' which is for faculties. This gets revised for every semester. Exams occur every 2 months in the college. The timings of the exams are different for different batches.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements from their 7th semester. Based on their CGPA, they would be selected for the Placement Exams. They should have a minimum of 7 CGPA to attend placement exams. Many companies like Google, Microsoft, JPMC, LTI Mindtree, Deloitte, etc visit our campus for placements and hure students with a good salary.
Fees and Financial Aid
Our college has the same fees for all the B.Tech courses. The amount of fees i pay per year is rs. 1,45,000. I am not eligible for any scholarships because i am a non-local student and has joined the college through JEE Mains. But the local students who have joined the college through TS-EAMCET have availed their scholarship benefits. Many of my friends who lie in EWS category get scholarship upto 1 Lakh per year. This scholarship is given by the Government of Telangana.
Campus Life
In our college we have 2 main fests. One technical fest known as 'Convergence', and a cultural fest known as 'Sintillashunz'. Other events too takes place like Entrepreneur fest called 'Ecficio' and TED x VNR VJIET.
Admission
Along with this college I had also applied for colleges like CBIT and Vasavi College of Engineering. As the cutoff was very high in those colleges, i wasn't able to get in. Also this college was near my home, so i considered it would be better if i join here. The college accepts exams like TS- EAMCET and JEE Mains. Even diploma students can enter the college in the 2nd year by ECET exams.
Faculty
The college maintains a good student-to-faculty ratio. Being from the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, we have a total of 35 teaching staffs and the total number of students in our department is 512 (all 4 years). It may not seem like good ratio, but we even have subjects from other branches too, so including all the faculties in our college, the student-to-faculty ratio would be around 12-1. We are also being provided personal mentors who help us during our complete course
