I like the environment and calmness here , means the teachers are very good and supportive and u can get any kind of help from your teachers and HODs . They are alwasy avaialable for you.
I like the greenry and positivity here at the chandiagrh university
I like the food courts and canteens , they are affordable and serve tasty food

I don't like the management staff of the suniversity
for anything u need to go many teachers approval
strictness over everything is very much high

Course Curriculum Overview

Overall the course curriculum is very much settled , like in my course mechanical engineering , every subject is well paced according to the need and beneftis to the students. Areas of improvement are just the labs work , and projects classes only.

Placement Experience

Placement process is very nice here at the chandigarh university. after 2nd or 3rd year of your degree . They will select tpp or non tpp students for that , if you will select tpp , college will provide you placement and for that u need to pay 10000rs for 2 yr course, which is more than worth it

Fees and Financial Aid

So , my course fee yearly is 160000, in which our clg provide scholarship test also at the time of admission in which the scholarship will be provided based on the score of the test . If you score more than 50% scholarship will be of 12% etc. I got scholarship of 12% in which i save around 24-30k out of 160000 fees. My course is mechanical engineering and different brances have different fee structure but the scholarship status is same for all students.

Campus Life

My overall experience is good here, i got good friends who helped me during my college life. Talking about club activites so different different departments provide sports acitivities, competition, painting , poster making competition .

Admission

The admission process was very simple , u just need to fill details about you and the course u want to pursue and 12th grades. Then u need to apply for cuet exam. and within 1 week they will share the link of the test . There was no application prcess and cutt-off of the test, it was a individual test .

Faculty

The faculty here are highly qualified teahers , some have done PHDs in their domains and some are industries expersts. Overall all the faculty members serve good amount of knowledge to you. They are very understandable also

Life at CGC Landran

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak.That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.

Chandigarh University - My experience from fees to social life

I gave cucet but can't find the college that have cse in their colleges. That time my father was recently posted in chandigarh as chandigarh university was very close to me and the transport is also easy and I don't have to pay the hostel fees and I can be a day scholar also so I choosed this college as it provide a good network of peoples. The admission process was to simple ,I just applied for their entrance online exam cucet and booked a slot gave online test of 100 mcq from the selected domain and after that I got scholarship and to confirm my seat I have to pay 10000 part of my semester fees (that 10000 was from my semester fees) and after doing online formalities and upload document. I got a call that you can come to university and attend classes. The admission process of too simple so I never taught of choosing other college at that time....Read More

A Student's Perspective ( Chandigarh University ) in Review

I haven't applied for other colleges because i was convinced for the college only my some of the friends were already studying in this college they told me everything about is and i also researched so much about this college before admission. Also the number of companies visits for placement was large. Admission process was simple When you visit their website and you show interest for admission they gives you and personal counsellor Who tells you about the admission process sometime if you stuck in every step they do it for you. there are two processes 1 is 12th merit based which is a direct entry if you got above 90 percent in your 12th Standard and 2ND - CUCET Enterance exam which is compulsory for Non direct Admissions There is nothing like cutoff in this exam this is a selection based exam but you have to get more than 40% marks in this exam for scholarship....Read More

Before I am choosing these colleges I researched about this college.
