Likes

- Most of the labs are not properly equipped with the proper instruments.
Course Curriculum Overview
The reason I chose the course of BMLT (Medical Laboratory Technician) is due to the fact that it is a skill based degree and has a lot of demand in the working sector. One can also start working with just a bachelors degree. The curriculum provides both theory and skill based knowledge for the real world. It mainly focuses on the practical aspect, with the skill of handing lab equipments and handling patients. The University provides very good material for the theory but it lacks in the practical portion and can be improved by changing the laboratory periods. Mid terms are taken before the finals.
Internships Opportunities
The internship are provided at the end semester, where the students can submit their NOCs to two hospitals for my course. The internship lasts for 6 months, where they will work in various labs in the hospital.
Placement Experience
There are no placements for my course as it is a skill based course, but during internships that happens in the last semester, the hospital may recruit a student to work after the degree is completed. My plans after this degree is to go for a masters degree
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
The course fees are 30,000 per semester which adds upto 60k per year. Along with hostel fees, for a 3 seater room, it costs 45,000 per semester which adds upto 90k per year. Therefore the total fees are around 150000 depending on the course and the room seater for hostel. There was a fee of 10,000 during admission which includes the fee for the uniform, clubs and also hostel form And the registration fee was about 1000 Depending on the course the fees may differ for eg for BPharm the course fees are 80k per semester.
Campus Life
The social aspects are very poor. Large scale events are rarely held, which is a requirement for a good college life. There is a library which can be accessed by the students. Most of the classrooms have a projector and an ac Sports and NCC are provided in the curriculum there are various clubs in the university but are not very active.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel provides only the bare minimum, a study table, cupboard, chair and a bed. The mess food is manageable. Based on the fees given for the hostel, the mess food can be improved. The registration process is done during the admission process.
Admission
The eligibility of the course is 60% in the previous exams along with marksheet of 10th and 12th. There are no entrance exams. The application forms can be availed by registering in the University website. The timing of the exams are after around 2 months after the semester starts, which would be the mid terms. The finals are at the 5th or 6th month. Some areas of improvement for the admission process are that it could be less of a hassle if there was a 24/7 helpline ready.
Faculty
Most of the facilities are well Qualified for their job, they do their job of teaching the students well and help in any way they can. They provide knowledge and advice for academic and also life based skills and are welcome to any doubts and queries of the students. Most of the teachers and professors have masters and PhDs and are well qualified. Each class is divided into sections for better learning experience.
