Saloni Goyal's Review On National Institute Of Technology - [NIT], Kurukshetra

GATE qualified well basically kurukshetra is my home town and getting NIT was like a dream come true. NIT has a wonderful environment and faculty.

Course curriculum is overall good. My electives were robotics , nano electronics and devices , solid states physics, material science and material characterization tools. The curriculum was innovative and ignited my interest in research. I have learned a lot of basics as well as advanced level things from this.

There is no internship as such in phD provided by the college. If you have contacts you can try but it;s still hard in phD to get internship. You can get internship in m.tech but not in phD.

The placements and job opportunities are brilliant. Basically in phD there are no direct campus placements in my college. you have to apply seperately. In b.tech and m.tech companies come. Aakash institutes for teaching and hp,infoysis etc. The salary package is around 5-15 lakhs per annum.

The fee structure is quite feasible. It is easily affordable. But I think the government has raised the fees this year for NITs and IITs. My fees for m.tech was 22000 for one semester and for phD is 7500 for one semester. It sounds quite feasible and in m.tech and phD we usually get monthly stipend from which fees can be paid.

Well I am not aware about loan facility but there is bank in our campus market. The scholarship can be availed with the help of your guide if you want. You yourself have to do research for sponsorship with the help of your seniors or guide.

Exams are sometimes typical and easy or somewhere in between. It depends from teacher to teacher. The marking is usually quite loose which is a benefit for students. We scored quite good marks in m.tech and phD even after studying less or the day before labs are generally hectic.

The faculty is overall good. Some of the teachers are brilliant and are linked with some foreign universities. They're so knowledgeable and motivating. A few teachers aren't so good but still they're ignorable if you focus on hard work. You have to ask them again and again they won't tell by themselves.
