Remarks

I think wasted four precious years of my life by studying in m college will not advice anybody to pursue graduation from here.

Entrance Preview

I had undertaken jammu and kashmir common entrance test conducted by board of professional entrance examinations, jammu and kashmir in the year of 2014 my score was 113, a little less than that was required to get enrolled in Govt college of engineering and technology.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course i would say lagged in many aspects the course curriculum lacked in providing the adequate exposure to its students various educational trips should have been conducted to make our college a valuable experience faculty members were not much competent there is a dire need for the college to work upon its infrastructure, counselling and training of faculty members is also must in order to improve upon the college functioning also the college fails to provide any job placement of the students.

Internships Opportunities

It doesn't provide any internship all it does it allows its students to go for industrial training on their own it doesn't involve itself with it at all.

Campus Life

Campus life lacked in many aspects no much exposure to extra curricular activities and so though i managed to participate in events like paper presentation, debate, dancing etc.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is very limited and not accessible no much imprecation in laid on it.

Exam Structure

The labs are not that great but yes are striving to provide better things as i was in electrical branch ,i will say it provided a basic understanding of electric equipment and shown us basic machinery.

Placement Experience:

Marshal the placement resources so well that our college has close to 90% placement records. Siemens, ABB and such companies where ECE engineers can contribute are the companies that hires us and the average for our ECE branch is 6 lakhs or so.

Is Nit Srinagar worth it?

Placement Experience:

Yes my college offers placements for each branch students becomes eligible after sixth semester if they doent have any active supply in there course and very company have their own criteria to make eligble to the student for placements like cgpa etc. companies visited in civil was L&T, Tata steel, Jsw, Afcon etc and the average package was 6 lakh every company brought diffrent no. of offers average was 5 in civil highest package got to mine class crc of 1300000 that was a psu and the percentage of students got placed was 10% only. mine plans after was to prepare for goverments exams.

There are in campus placements in our university. Students become eligible for the same from 7th semester. Placement Experience:

Our institute has a placement call, and it helps the students acquire jobs in the industry. Many top companies like Wipro, L and T, and NVIDIA visit our campus, and it provides jobs in every field from Information Tech. to Material-related jobs. Here job opportunities are for every branch. Recently in one day 30-40 students got placed at an average package of 10 LPA. Most of the opportunities are for CSE and IT students as it goes for every institute and some companies like GAIL, and IOCL. BARC gives internship opportunities to chemical branches too. The core branches like Electrical and Mechanical also perform well in the placements. From the 7th semester, placement opportunities are given to the students. Highest package 40 LPA and median package 10 LPA.

Admission:

First apply for jee mains exam and get a rank under 50000 and also minimum 75% marks in 12th exam and you have only three attempt to qualify jee mains exam if you clear the cutoff so you also eligible for jee advance exam for the admission in IIT

Remarks:

The university is situated in the Trikuta foothills and is 80 km away from the main Jammu city so one has to bear that because everything is not available sometimes. Electricity is 24×7 and the weather is awesome.
