Course Curriculum Overview
Since the start I was interested in Accounting so I opted for BCom. As such the course curriculum does not have any major issues, but what I personally feel is that college should also include 'Accounting Softwares' in their curriculum which have real world applications. The University exams are easy if you have the habit of revising daily. You can easily score 8+ cgpa with proper guidance and preparation. Per semester, two exams are conducted for each subject (i.e. Internal and External examinations). Internal exams include 2 modules, whereas the external includes all 4 modules per subject.
Internships Opportunities
The last year, LG offered unpaid internships during the Sanket Fair. During the summer internships, several companies work in the field of Marketing, Public Relations, Content Creation etc. Upon completion, they offer Letter of Recommendation and a Certificate of Completion,
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for college placements in the final year of their studies. Few companies which visited are: Godrej and Boyce, ICICI Prudential and Collabera. I will probably pursue my MBA after BCom.
Fees and Financial Aid
I took admission in the year 2023. The total fees for first year was ?50,000, after availing a scholarship for higher education (only applicable for first year students), the fees was reduced to ?40,000. Per semester fees during the first year was ?21,500 (including ?1,500 for University exams). In the second year however the college fees has increased by ?4000, thus increasing the per semester fees to ?28,500 (including University exam fees). The CVM University provides financial aid for meritorious students with financial issues.
Campus Life
Major events organised by SEMCOM are: 'Novellus- The Ad Making Show' usually held in the month of January or February Business and Technology fair is held in the month of January or February. There are several other events like Youth Fest and Gyanotsav organised by The CVMU. Smart Boards are installed in almost every classroom. The college runs various clubs such as: Thinking Hats (for literary events), Social Media Team (for the management of social media accounts), Placement and IT Cell, etc.
Admission
The eligibility of the course is minimum 50% in class 12th board examination. The application forms are available both online (SEMCOM website) and offline (in the institute itself). You can apply for the college admission as soon as your board results are announced.
Faculty
The strength of BCOM classes has always been less when compared to that of BBA and BCA. The college faculty is amazing. Teachers are cooperative and highly qualified. My learning experience with them has been great till now.
