Course Curriculum Overview

4

I'm an average student since school and wanted to go to a different city for college my cousin suggested me for law. So I applied for it and now it's going good. Law is a great choice for students if they want to built confidence. They teach us how to tackle the situation in front of us. I think the law is enough in itself it teaches students how to think and express that but if any they should provide student with more moot courts so every student can participate and learn how the court works in real life. Exams are easy if you are studying regularly but every even semester may seem hard because it's only 4.5 months to study while odd semester have full 6 months. But it's not much of a deal because every teacher complete their syllabus and they are always available for any needed help.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee for my course which is ballb is so affordable here. Like normally it's around 1 lakh per year but in here it's so cheap we have to pay around 25000 for 5 years (everything including). I just pay my 3rd semester fee which is ?4475 only. It's same for all student. One can apply for hostel too and it is also cheap fee is around 16000 per year which include hostel security and mess security. You have to pay mess charge every month which is not included in that payment but it is also low. It can easily go around 2500-3000 per month.

Campus Life

4

MDU have one of the biggest and best auditoriums in Haryana. It's normal to see the program in MDU. Every year they organise a induction programme for new student to help them. You will see many sports facilities too. MDU offers best ground and foundation to sport student. For example mdu have a Olympic size swimming pool and athletic ground. Many Olympians are also from MDU like Sakshi Malik , Geeta phogat, vijender Singh. By this you can conclude how much skill set MDU is providing to students. MDU have a big library which named as vivekanand library which student use 24 hours. It have more than 1 lakh books nd online journals. Other than this some department also have their separate library such as mba , law etc.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Mdu provide student with hostel. There are 11 boys hostel in mdu and several girls hostel. Which is affordable for students. They also provide with mess which provide food. Quality is neither good not bad. But food quality may vary hostel to hostel. Mostly hostel are for single student but some hostel provide 2 person room too. Affordability is also good here one has to pay 110 for the registration fee and then around 16000 for hostel for 1 year ( mess , hostel security included ). For hostel you have to get good merit score which is calculated by distance from your home town + marks in your last exam ( if fresher 12th base, if old student ur last semester). If one didn't get hostel he can rent a pg which is near mdu.

Admission

Whenever admission opens one can apply for any course on the official site of MDU. Then he can pay a fee for admission and then MDU conducts a test which is different for every course. For law, we have to learn normal gs, history, geography, economics, political science, and maths. It's not hard and we can compare it with the 12th class board. There will be no negative marking so students can attempt all questions if they want then they declare the results and conduct counseling. Passing marks may vary according to how top students score. You can get help from the category as well. They have reservations for every category and it may differ from course to course. The application fee is so low so I don't think they need improvement in this section.

Faculty

4

As i mentioned in pro and cons section both faculty and students are helpful. They help student to find their intrest and help them to persue their freams. If we talk about ratio of teacher and student it's about 30:1. But law department give chance to phd scholars to teach student. They teach student so their confidence increase and they will have more complex knowledge about their subjects. Mostly scholars and teachers lives in mdu in hostel and quaters so it's easy to approach them whenever you want if not that you can easily interact them in classes and in their room while department is open.

For BBA.LLB course no batch has yet graduated, and the first batch to graduate is in their last academic year. We are expecting placements to start early this year, and after the graduation of our final batch, we will get a fair idea about the packages to be offered. Although IIM already has well-established placement records for other courses, it is expected to be the same for the law course

i think the students become eligible for placements from the 13th term. our first batch hasn't graduated yet. they are due to graduate in 2026. but certain law firms which have visited our college and have offered internships to our students are Khaitan & Co., Luthra, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, IndusLaw. Honestly, I have not decided yet what career i would want to pursue but yes, having a campus placement in hand definitely gives a sense of security. I may pursue an LLM after this or may enter into litigation.

Curriculam is very nice for the law subjects but for the BA subjects it can be very tiring at times. Like same concepts are repeated again and again in various subjects. E.g- Often what taught in Pol Science is same to what is taught in History, so it can be repetattive on some occasions.
