Course Curriculum Overview
My course is Bachelor's degree in Economics under West Bengal State University. It consists of Microeconomics, macroeconomics, Statistics, Mathematical Economics, Indian Economy, International Economics and Development Economics. There course structure is good but there should be a programming language added which will be helpful in future.
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual fees of my course is almost 15000. My all tuitions total fee is almost 12000 per annum. The total expenses are almost Rs. 40000 per annum including books and other expenses. I'm a general candidate. There is only one scholarship named SVMCM which provides financial assistance of Rs. 18000 but it can't fulfill my academic expenses. I'm from a very poor financial background so this is my last year maybe I wouldn't be able to study further due to my poor financial background. I'm dropping my academic career.
Campus Life
There are most Bengalis so they enjoy festivals like Durga Puja, Kali Puja. They arrange Vasant Panchami festival. There is also fest for all in some festivals. The annual sports meet us held in mid June or July. There is library, computer cafe etc.
Admission
There is no entrance exam. You get the admission on merit basis i.e. on your +2 scores. Application forms are available on college website. You can also get direct admission if the seats are vacant. The admission process is slow it should be little bit faster.
Faculty
They are highly educated. They always supports me and they guide me. Due to my poor financial background, they support me by providing me books, notes etc. My principal always encourages me going for higher studies. The faculty to student ratio is almost 1:20 but in my economics department it is 4:1 , since I'm the only student in the department. They are easily approached and they always pay attention on the students.
