Likes
- I loved how inclusive and indulging the classes are.there are many tech fests and events that takes place to prepare students for challenges.
- i also liked how well the labs are designed.the students are asked to give fortnightly presentations to build confidence and better engagement .
- proper assesments are given and faculty is very helpful with any kind of assistance a student may ask for.
Dislikes
- i hate the fact that the campus is really small and there is not much space for students to sit many times as after a class is ended the same room might be used by another class.
- also the college doesnt offer any parking facilities for students in side or outside the campus as it does not include any ground space which causes a major rush outside the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
the course BCA (bachelors in computer applications) focusses on website building,app building and how one can establish and enhance the user's experience with technololgy.it also focusses on developing one's practical skills as it includes projects ,assesments and internships based off the same.but sometimes i do think that subjects like ES (environmental studies) should not be included in a course like this as they are of no relevance to the course outcome .the syllabus coverage to exam time slots are timed perfectly as there is a 75 percent attendance critieria to be fullfilled by the students which helps in maintaining the discipline and continuity of the syllabus and if students just pay a slight effort in the class they might not even need to go through with topics ever again.
Internships Opportunities
honesty right now idont yet have experience in any internship as i am in second year and have yet to understand this but from what i have heart IITM offers great internship opportunities . the internware cell of iitm has really took it as their responsibility to provide good quality and paid interships to students .they even help students to build their resume and present a good social personality.
Placement Experience
students typpically become eligible for campus placements from their 6th semester of the BCA program. some of the companies that have previously made offers are- TCS(made 25 offers) ,infosys(made 20 offers),wipro (made 18 offers) HCL tech.(made 15 offers),cognizant (made 12 offers) etc. and all these offered numerous profiles i.e- software developer,system analyst,it analyst, sofware engineer, technical support, network engineer etc. all in all the approximate placement rate is 85%. the highest package secured has been of 7LPA and the lowest have been 3LPA to 4LPA.as far as i am concerned i am only in my second year right now. though i do plan to persue MCA too and then take a job.
Fees and Financial Aid
the complete cost for education for the year 2023-2026 for me is approx 4 lakhs. which for a profesional course like BCA is not bad at all. the tution fee for one year is 98000 which is appropriate if looking at the highly qualified teachers training us .i paid 20,000 as university charges and 10,000 as security deposit and 2,000 as alumini contribution which got the total to 1,30,000 for the first year.
Campus Life
the annual fest of IITM is called FIESTA and it is a two day event that takes place at taalkatora stadium. there are also tech fests hosted by the societies of the college such as MATRIX , and techno sapiens. the college also holds a big library that contains all the study material needed by a student for the course . all classrooms have pc setups with projector and the labs are all I5 labs. there are not much sports events inside the campus but the college allows the student to go and indulge in all sports activites in a sports complex nearby. there is an art society, a drama society, an internship cell, and many other social groups that conduct regular fun events.
Admission
the eligibility criteria for us was to clear 10 + 2 with a minimum aggregate of 50% and to clear the IPU CET examination. i secured 1025 rank and got allotted the first shift of IITM (information) .and it also requires the student to have either mathematics or computer science as a subject in 12th. u can find the apllication form for the entrance exam on the GGSIPU PORTAL . and a minimum of 1500 is to be depositied for the application. and after the college allotment a further 60,000 (now 96,000) needs to be paid which will be added to the 1st year fees of the course. i feel the asmission process is quite through and simple . but the councelling process is where i think there can be an improvement. when i went for my councelling there were all the BCA students with only 2 teachers which was getting a little hard to manage i beleive.
Faculty
All the faculty memebers are well qualified and educated and fulfills all the requirements for the job.they are encouraging and interative with each and every student.the faculty to student ratio according to me is incredible as each teacher can look and ensure that every student is doing well. the avg sidze of a class is 60 students ,which is easily managable by the highly trained faculty memebers.The teachers are at all times available for the students to resolve their querries and problems if incase one is not available,he/she will allot a time feasible to the student to come toh him/her and look after their issues.
