Life in a IIT

IIT BHU is one of the oldest universities in India around 100 years. It has the biggest alumni network which really helps many students to guide about there career.So it was one of the main reason selected this college and also according to merit list I was getting a decent branch here.

The course curriculum in all IITS are almost same and can be compared to the other tier-2 colleges in India. First year courses are almost similar for all branches and will b consisting physics, mathematics amd chemistry. Then second year onwards students will study most of their branch courses.

Yes, IIT BHU does provide internshpis xD. The training and placement cell try yo ensure that every student gets a internship.

IIT BHU have placement record of 2cr.+ in 2014 which was highest in India. Latest statics show that highest package was around 1cr.+ and average of college was around 10 lakhs. Metallurgical Engineering has highest package around 28 lakhs and an average of 9.5 lakhs.

The college organises many fests like Technex (technical fest), kashiyatra (cultural fest), Spardha (sports fest), FMC Weekend (Film and Media fest) and many departmental fests organised by respective departments. Metallurgical Engineering Society(MetSoc) organises an departmental fest known as ANVESHAN.

Fee in IITS are classified according to the income status of the students family. Fee under 1lakh income is around 5000 per sem. while between 1 to 5 lakh is around 60 thousand per sem. and 105000 per sem. for others. In addition a 12000 Mess fee per sem. is also there for all students.

Many scholarships are provided to students by their academic performance. Also there will be loan option provided by SBI bank when you will reach the college.

IIT BHU is in Varanasi, you can even have a motor vehicle here. It is situated near the main city and every place in Varansi can be accesed from the campus itself(autowalas are present everywhere), gender ratio is too bad (1:10), there are 3 sports stadiums and all competitions are organised here.

Most of the hostels in IIT BHU are too old and requires to be renovated. While hostel facilities are having a common room, 24x7 electricity and water supply, table tennis table, badminton and volleybol courts. Mess food in IIT BHU is one of the best foods compared to other IITS.

A year in IIT BHU is divided into two semesters namely odd and even. Each semester consists of two examinations named MID TERM and END TERM examinations. Mid term examinations are mostly in mid of a semester and end semester at the end of the semester.

As we all know that for admission in IIT'S we need to clear two examinations named JEE Main and JEE ADVANCED. After clearing these exams with a good A.I.R. we need to select the branches and colleges (preferable) from JOSSA wenpage and required to submit all the forms and document mentined on Jossa webpage at a IIT near you home or your preferance.

The faculty of IIT BHU is good and is par with other old IITS. They will be supportive in each and every case and will guide enough in projects you will do. Also faculties in IITS are one of the most experienced and renowed in India. In 4 years of engineering they will definitely try everything yo excel in their field.
