What Students Say
Likes
- What I like the most is faculty’s support. And we got summer internship provided by the college itself.
- Library is very good with so much of space and very quiet environment is strictly maintained there, plus almost every book is available there.
- Curriculum is quite interesting, we get choice to select subjects and right execution of the overall syllabus is there too as per the limited distribution of credits
Dislikes
- There is no placement for the psychology department.
- Few of the faculties are really lack knowledge and teaching skills.
Course Curriculum Overview
In Applied Psychology, I have multiple options from a career point of view as in organization psychology. The curriculum is quite good and examinations are conducted very strictly and authenticity is maintained. There is a lot of improvement in the area of placement in the psychology department. And hiring 100% faculty who are competent.
Internships Opportunities
Abhivyakti Wellness Clinic offered us an internship for summer vacation and it was for 4000. We made a report for the overall internship along with the tasks and duties assigned in the clinic and Sharda Hospital. We met patients with disorders on whom we performed mental status examination (MSE) and case history as well. Did check on them regularly.
Fees and Financial Aid
In my course 5% hike in the fee was there annually. The total cost for my education is 247000 including tuition fee, exam fee, registration fee, and admission fee. Scholarships are available if you hold a significant cgpa in a previous degree. Placement is not there but I took an internship provided by the college.
Campus Life
Sangam, Chorus, Cultural events, School fest, college fest, brand campaigns, sports events, etc. are held yearly. From novels to domains, almost every category is there for books in the library. AC and projectors are there in the normal classrooms. Sports events and matches with other universities are held and taken very seriously in cricket, badminton, football, volleyball, table tennis etc. Clubs are dedicated to making festivals happen and showcasing student's talent.
Hostel Facilities
Spacious room with a decent study table alongside bed and with attached washroom. Meals are pretty nicer than the hostels or PG outside of the campus(private) as I heard about them from my peers. Sharda's hostel is comparatively great. I took the hostel in Sharda only.
Admission
Eligibility is that you should be a graduate in any related field. The application form is available on the website and the process is smooth. Exams are done twice in a semester, mid sem, and final sem. Exams are tough but you get marks for what you write. In short, there is no scope of business from faculty as they don't know whose answer sheet they are checking. There's one scope of improvement in the college where all documentation needs to be done in the respective department only. Right, we have to run from our department to block 2 which is the opposite side of the corner from our department as the campus is so big it can be a hassle.
Faculty
Faculties are all PhDs and hold great experience in dealing with students and teaching them. However, exceptions are always there, so one or two of the faculty lack it. I can talk to the faculty I want, my experience with my mentor is good who guided me with subject selection.
Interview Experience
No test was there at the time of my admission. I got selected on the merit basis. Process is little tiring and criteria is strict and same as per the UGC guidelines. I got a great Counselor too who helped in the process with tricky things.
