Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course cirriculum is excelent. It has enhanced my knowledge in Economics and real world applications too. The on going cirriculum and the teaching method is already good but I feel it would be better if we could get more real world experience or knowledge to understand better. The exams are conducted regularly in the form of class assessment, group discussions and group presentations apart from that we have praactical exams of each subjects and have two written exams twice a semester. I think the difficulty of the paper depends on your knowledge and preparation because everything which taught by our faculty comes in the exam, so I never found my exams tough to give.

Internships Opportunities

5

I got a chance to do 1 month internship with World Intellectual foundation in my 2nd year. It was a stipend based one of Rs 5000. It was a in office intership in Delhi. I was selected as a research intern there . this internship really helped me enhance my analytical and research skills. Apart from that we also gave a interview for a NGO named Pehchaan for various roles.

Placement Experience

5

The college does bring companies for placement. we can't blame the university for the it's the students who don't work hard and waste there time and in the end can't even sit for the campus placements. We become elligible from our final year and before that we got internship opportunities as well. Talking about my plans after getting the degree, as I have already mentioned that I was prepaaring for UPSC NDA but unfortunately I couldn't make it so I am working hard to give my attempt to UPSC CDS for Army.

Campus Life

5

The college does conducts regular events to keep us entertained. Usually celebraties are invited to attend the college events and fest which gives a great college experience. Apart from that I would say the Central libary is one of the best libraries I have ever experienced in my LIfe. It's really spacious with books covering all subjects and need of the students. Apart from the central Library the University also have separate libraries for each departments. We are provided with wifi enabled campus. we have smart boards with projector facilitie. the faculty can use the smart keyboard to write, show visual reprentations and videos for our better understanding. And every classroom of the university is Air conditioned for our comfort. Now coming to the sports facilities offered on campus are as follows: 1) Indoor and outdoor Badminton courts 2) Gym facilities ( needs subscription) 3) 2 Basketball Courts 4) 2 big fields for cricket and football games. 5) Yoga, Dance and music club is procided. We have a student portal which have made the college life easy as almost everything is available on that portal like sylabus details, attendance, academic, callender and information related to upcoming events etc

Hostel Facilities

5

In hostel rooms both Air conditioned and Non Air conditioned rooms are available according to students preference. and Rooms are also available in Single, double and triple seater in hostel. Meal quality is quite satisfactory and meals are alsso regularly changed seasonaly. The hostel registration is done at the time of college addmission only. and Non AC rooms are affordable but the AC rooms are quiet expensive but it also alsows us to use the ac 24*7 , so that a plus point. Apart from college hostel there are a lot of PG available near the jagat farm area and students also rent appartments in ALPHA 2 locality because of its closer access to market area.

Admission

After my 12th I was completely focused on my preparation of a competitive exam viz. UPSC NDA. because of that I couldn't give cuet exam to apply for other colleges. My father was posted near to this university. so upon researchig i found the campus life and the experience quite good so I dicided to join this university because it was near my home too. And I believe it doesn't matter what college you opt for in the end you hard work and dedication towards achieving your gaols decide you career. We had to give the SUAt exam in which mostly reasoning and english questions were asked. after that we had a small telephonic interview. I got 40% scholarship based on my 12th result. the admission process was quite smooth.

Faculty

5

The Faculty is enough to conduct regular classes. The faculty is well trained and qualified ans tries there best to deliver the best lecture to us. The relationship of the students with there faculty is very much friendly. The students can approach to there faculty any time when they have and course related or even personal doubts and they are always ready to help us. I loved all my faculties especially Shekhar sir , Naynakhee maam and Rukhmani maam of the SSHSS department because the are very supportive, extremely qualified and are very much serious about our career and give suggestions how we can excel in life. The couse cirriculum is relevant and the written exams are conducted twice a semester and additional practical and CA based tests are conducted too. The Difficulty of the exam is completely based on your presence of mind during you classes and your sself prepartion. I am good in studies from my childhood it self so I never found my exams tough to clear.

Interview Experience

4

we had SUAT exam In which mostly reasoning and english questions were being asked. I was quiet good in these earlier so It was easy to me and after that i had a telephonic interview in which general questions were being asked like introduction, why this course and wy this university etc etc. It was easy as well so nothing to worry about.

Night Life

5

We have a well equiped gym for students but it need a subscription to access. Library facitiy has been provided to students from morning 9 am to 10 pm and sometimes even 12 am during exam times. Apart from that the environment inside the campus is very peacefull and students spen their time hanging out and playing different sports inside the campus. also cafeteria are there where students can eat whatever they want to and even throw parties whenever they need to to celebrate special occasions with special ones and make memories for life. I have interest in psychology that's why I adapt this course. got to know so many things about psychology and which help me to know people better really help me in my day today life. But the professor need to explain more and do not give illusionary examples. Did they have to try to explain in real world scenario. The courses is difficult and the paper is so lengthy give three hours to write and the people is so many that the time is insufficient they need to give more time if they expect to fill 24 pages of answer sheet.

Amity University, Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Economics)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum at Amity University is a well rounded blend of theortical principles and practical relevance that shaped my future career. There are modules like microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics and statistics that provide a strong formation for any future career opportunities in economics or finance. Additionally the presence of specialise subject like health economics, developmental economics, international trade, public policy and behavioural economics very highly appealing and something you would not find in other universities or/and government university. The inclusion of such modules got my attention because it promised to go beyond traditional economic subjects and focusing on the practical subjects that are also industry specific level of domain of economics. They were also research projects, data analysis classes, case studies throughout the three year course which allows students to apply and test their knoweldge that further enhance the value of the degree. There were also subjects like environmental sciences, psychology, communicative English which was made mandatory for students that help them shape their personality and adapt more to a corporate setting. The examination system is designed to assess the viability of skills and critically but the difficulty of exam especially towards the end of semester can create unnecessary pressure for students. There will be time that there will be last minute syllabus changes or additional chapters to be considered and there is no structured format of what you can expect in the written exam however there is a fair grading system though some students feel that instead of the exams there can be more emphasis on analytical side rather than modules that require rote learning.
